As it happens US trade deficit with China increased in June by $300 million from May and by almost $1 billion from June 2017. US trade deficit increased in June to $46.3 billion from $43.2 billion in May!

Trump followers have such a disconnect between all of his known lies and their believing all of these BS claims about what he's accomplished.

He pretends he got Kim to destroy his nukes, he goes through a short phase where he believes it himself (apparently) and by the time the news begins to dribble out that no such accomplishment has occurred, the story of Trump's great success is fading, it drops off the radar and some of his followers continue to believe Trump accomplished something in N Korea. The details just what that accomplishment was get vague.

Any of the resident fascist enablers wanna try to defend this ****? Every time Trump says "tariffs" substitute it with "taxes," and every time you want to say "Trump makes a good point" instead say, "I'm a ******* idiot!"

He really has no idea how Tariffs work does he? The country facing the Tariff doesn't pay it, the consumer in the US does by having to pay a higher price for the same goods they got before the Tariff was introduced.

A spot of good news - Judge's ruling invalidates FEC regulation allowing anonymous donations to 'dark money' groups

Judge Beryl A. Howell ruled the FEC's current regulation of such groups, including 501(c) 4 non-profits, fails to uphold the standard Congress intended when it required the disclosure of politically related spending.

"The challenged regulation facilitates such financial 'routing,' blatantly undercuts the congressional goal of fully disclosing the sources of money flowing into federal political campaigns, and thereby suppresses the benefits intended to accrue from disclosure ... ," wrote Howell, an Obama appointee to the D.C district court. The decision is likely to be appealed.

2/ When you're under investigation and your lawyers say don't talk to this woman as it creates at best the appearance and at worst the fact of WITNESS TAMPERING, and you then get that federal witness aboard a plane with no witnesses, most will *presume* you're committing a crime.

Car makers, Coca Cola, all seem to be feeling the pinch and as the article points out despite Trumps boasting:

Morgan Stanley estimates that a full-blown escalation of the trade dispute could knock 0.81 percentage points off global gross domestic product. This scenario would involve the US slapping 25% tariffs on all goods from both China and the EU, and them responding with similar measures.

The bank said most of the effect from tariff hikes on growth would probably be seen only in 2019.
