Trump Tweets

"July is just the ninth month since 1970 that unemployment has fallen below 4%. Our economy has added 3.7 million jobs since I won the Election. 4.1 GDP. More than 4 million people have received a pay raise due to tax reform. $400 Billion brought back from “overseas.” @FoxNews"

"NASA, which is making a BIG comeback under the Trump Administration, has just named 9 astronauts for Boeing and Spacex space flights. We have the greatest facilities in the world and we are now letting the private sector pay to use them. Exciting things happening. Space Force!"

"Almost 500,000 Manufacturing Jobs created since I won the Election. Remember when my opponents were saying that we couldn’t create this type of job anymore. Wrong, in fact these are among our best and most important jobs!"

Nobody praises Trump like Trump. No one could do as thorough and accurate a job of revealing his greatness than Trump himself. That's because nobody loves Trump as much as Trump or understands his genius as much as Trump.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump toasts himself at parties.

Remember when Trump said that he would replace Obamacare with something better?

Trump pushed hard and is still pushing to end Obamacare. But he also promised to replace it with something better.

If he has plans to do that, what is the something better? You would think that we would have heard a proposal for that something better by now.

Battle Royale?

Trump praising the Commercial Crew assignments? Kind of like Nixon’s signature in the Apollo 11 plaque.

Soylent

......is people.

Are you sure? I thought that it was Soylent "Green" that was people. Soylent, in general, was usually made of something else, though. The current product "Soylent" is definitely made of something else, for that matter.

That Trump doesn't have something better was made perfectly clear, though, when he was begging the Republicans to give him something, anything, so he could sign it and call it a huge win.

Sorry, I just thought of the movie Soylent Green and thought the green was an ommission.

I have never heard of Soylent...But I remember the movie.

IIRC, Soylent was the company, with Green, Red, Blue, etc. as the various products, flavors, ingredients.

Like Ben and Jerry’s, where Cherry Garcia, and Chubby Hubby, and the like are made of...

Oh my god.

A couple mildly relevant things to this thread from the Daily Kos -

The Kochs turned the GOP into a crazy train, then left the keys where any idiot could find them

Thanks, Koch brothers, for your contributions to humanity and prepping the GOP for Trump!

Grassley pledges September hearing for Kavanaugh despite lack of archival papers till October
But included in those 1 million pages at Archives is Kavanaugh's time as staff secretary at the Bush White House, which Kavanaugh himself has called "the most interesting and informative" period to him as a judge. It's also a time when he played a key role in the internal debate over whether President Bush had the executive authority to override a ban on torture.

One way or the other, Republicans are determined to skip over those three key years on the way to a pre-midterm confirmation vote. It appears the only thing that might stop them is if any Republicans, such as Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, actually take an interest in seeing those papers before rushing into the hearings.

Nothing suspicious there.

National Archives tells Senate Democrats only Republicans can request Kavanaugh's Bush era records

Or there. Who cares about due diligence or addressing "the most interesting and informative" period to the guy as a judge? Not the Republicans. Probably because they know that stuff from that period includes a lot of stuff that a lot of people would be seriously unhappy with.

Of course, on a tangent from that... Google Searches for Self-Induced Abortion Increase as Women Prepare for End of Choice.

Gee, I wonder what for? Bans on abortions are soooo successful, after all.

In more positive news, though, Kris Kobach experiences the worst thing that can happen to you in politics.

No, the worst thing that can happen to you is to roll into a town for a scheduled rally, to get to the hall and find …..

…. ABSOLUTELY NOBODY.

Just an acre of empty chairs.

Not a single solitary supporter. Not even your mother.

WaPo: ‘The most bizarre thing I’ve ever been a part of’: Trump panel found no voter fraud, ex-member says
No credible evidence has ever been produced, by the White House or anyone else, to substantiate [Trump's] claim.
In spite of no data, "Kobach later [wrote] in a Breitbart column arguing that the alleged fraud had swung the state’s 2016 senate race." Lying, lowdown Republicans, illustrating exactly why white supremacists are morally and intellectually unfit for the office of dog catcher, let alone anything of national import.

Quite certainly every single one sees only Thor looking handsomely back at him in his Walmart EasyHome RosyMirror. GOP: Craven, miserable, and unmanly.

And Slings and Arrows whole approach just smacks a little bit to much of the whole 'Mussolini was ruthless dictator who destroyed freedom in Italy, but he made the trains run on time" argument for me.

And with the same degree of accuracy. The Trump Administration's economic performance has so far been unexceptional despite a huge tax cut and being handed a US economy in excellent shape and having a stable global economy. Mussolini really didn't make the trains run any better...

Conveniently...

Recently, Russia has raised alarms by declaring plans to expand its Arctic domain.

“Russia has claimed natural resources and territories in the Arctic that exceed its international rights and is investing in ice-capable military assets to back up that claim,” a letter signed last week by eight House lawmakers said.

...

The Senate tentatively approved $750 million in February to build the new heavy icebreaker.

But Homeland Security stripped the funding from its most recent budget proposal, allocating it instead to the proposed border wall. The move prompted the letter from lawmakers, who said the agency sought to cut Coast Guard funding “while wasting a staggering $4.9 billion on a border wall.”

“We urge you in the strongest possible terms to reconsider the misallocation of resources, which would undermine all 11 of the Coast Guard’s statutory missions and place our nation at a distinct economic, geopolitical and national security disadvantage for decades to come,” the letter said.

Strange. Why do wins for Russia just keep happening, over and over and over and over, during this administration? Maybe someone should investigate connections in this administration with Russia?

Wait, what's that over there? Former state GOP leader kills mother’s dog, claims he’s ‘the second coming of Christ,’ police say

A former leader of the South Carolina Republican Party known for his incendiary tweets about Trayvon Martin, Nancy Pelosi and others is now facing charges after allegedly slaughtering a family dog.

Todd Kincannon, a former lawyer, told officers that he had to “sacrifice” his mother’s dog because he is “the second coming of Christ” and God told him to do so, going on to say that Jesus needs a sacrifice and blood must be spilled every 1,000 years, according to a police report.

It's a former GOP leader that likely needs treatment for mental illness!
