See, that's the interesting thing. He once did, in fact, begin a scam(s) based on some sort of medical scanning technology; most likely to capitalize on his medical background, but probably knew enough of the amount of unavoidable medical scrutiny any machine would draw and fairly quickly abandoned it with never a breath that it was even a thought in his mind (or at least, made attempts to downplay it even though a bunch of magazines and such published articles playing up these wondrous scanners at one time).

I wonder if that early device inspired Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani in any way...

Don't forget the Mossbauer-effect radiation treatment for cancer.....

All three possibilities empower future iterations of the Mills con by allowing the loss of Mills to be used as an excuse for the lack of future working devices. The government or the gunman destroyed critical research. There were secrets Mills took to his grave. The possibilities are extensive.

I would think there would be a scramble to set up and perpetuate the scam based on 'secret instructions' left by Mills or some such story. This would be by those who knew him and strangers trying to get on the looting. Kinda like the generals of Alexander fighting over his empire. They will be fighting over who can continue the scam 'in his name' - as it appears to pay rather nicely.

I wonder why no competing scams have arisen. All they’d really need to do is make up a new name for the Hydrino for their fork.

But if you have the "secret instructions", then you would be expected to produce results much sooner.

Better to play the "Well, we know we can do it, because we know Mills did it, but alas, we'll have to spend 30 years reproducing all his work....And, of course, we're not the geniuses that Mills was, so if it takes us even longer, and costs even more money, well...." card. We know his fans have already spent 30 years waiting for (and funding) his results, so why wouldn't they do it for another 30 years?

Sure. That's a very simple setting. Can you list what would be "the ordinary" there? Or are you just playing it be ear as almost everything you drop here?

For instance I doubt there is much of anything below the near UV, say 300nm.

"By inspection". Don't be ridiculous! All elements must have been weighed properly before and after the experiment, including the air that reaches the site of the reaction.

There was an intense shockwave outwards. I highly doubt that atmospheric O2 rushing in is going to play any significant part. And, these are very short timescales we're talking about.

Do you endorse that word by word?

Word by word? If you are asking if I have any reserves about any of it, I have very few. For instance Mills says that the Schrodinger equation is not a wave equation. Technically he is correct, but I'm not sure it's really a big deal.

Actually, it's more like accusing a neighbor of being a wife beater after years of hearing hitting sounds and female screaming through the walls, and then, only after years of telling him he should lay off beating his wife, he finally tells you that they're really into S&M.

Okay, sure, we were wrong about him being a "wife beater", but if he spends years acting just like a wife beater, without any attempt to appear not like a wife beater, we really don't need to offer an apology for our mistake, because he was going out of his way to contribute to our misunderstanding.

As has been pointed out here many, many times, Mills' behavior is virtually indistinguishable from that of every other free energy fraud we've ever seen, and despite years of "trying to prove" his claims, he still, year after year, makes the same BS claims, pushes the same BS "proofs", and ignores every serious criticism directed his way.

We've told him, and others like him, exactly what he needs to do to prove to us he's not a fraud, and yet, he continues to act just like the frauds. So, if, wonder of wonders, he finally gets his head out of his ass long enough to actually show us something real, well, then, he gets no apology, and deserves no apology, because the years of being called a fraud are largely his own damn fault.

As I predicted, some skeptics here will still blame Mills even when his work is accepted by mainstream. And no, you have not 'told him ... exactly what he needs to do', and even if you did, why would he listen.

To be fair, we don’t know much about his personal life. Is he even married? To a woman? He can’t be a wife beater if he’s single or has a husband, now can he?

The fact that he’s either a con artist or a blithering idiot doesn’t mean domestic violence is automatically one of his sins. Stalin, by all accounts, was a loving husband and attentive father.

I think Markie’s suggestions about Mills beating his wife are over the top and unnecessary, but that’s just, like, my opinion man.

Isn't there a moderator on this list?

That is not going to happen though, is it? Given that he has produced the square root of nothing in three decades, it is unlikely to change.

His equipment blew up and no precise measurements are even possible:eek:? How convenient!:o

On the idea that this is an easy scam to get started:
In the most general sense free energy scams are fairly common and if this is lumped in with them then yes many people have done it and probably many people will do it in the future.

However, scam or not, BLP is unique and I believe it would be very difficult to duplicate BLP. There are some similarities between EEStor and BLP. EEStor is a developer of supercaps. The company vastly overstated the capabilities of what they had developed and even today it is not clear that they have invented anything of unique value. The company was founded in 2000 so it is similar to BLP in that it has been around for awhile. However EEStor is different from BLP in that it seems to do legitimate third party testing, the problem for EEStor is that the third party testing has never come close to confirming its most grandiose clams.

From my perspective I think EEstor and Theranos have more in common with each other than they do with BLP. At the heart of EEStor and Theranos were greatly exaggerated claims for products that don't claim to be based on theories that violate the laws of physics as they are known today and that actually do something albeit not nearly as well as claimed.

BLP for almost thirty years has claimed to have evidence for something almost all physicists agree doesn't exist. BLP's claims for free energy gadgets aren't unique, but the long running nature of the company, the substantial investments from larger entities as opposed to the small time investors free energy scams usually prey on, and the patina of science from the many papers that have been produced are unique aspects of BLP and I don't know of any other company that has done something similar.

Several people above predicted that when Mills is gone BLP will continue on. I doubt it. Mills is the driver. There are no technology oriented people on the board and thirty years of failure is not much to base a new effort on.

Did you reply at all? I saw nothing because the Internet doesn't work because Schrödinger's is not a wave equation.
