The Trump Presidency VII

Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas. How can people be surprised that businesses might not want to serve these fleabags?

Before the child separation policy, one could argue (poorly) that these are just policy differences and no one should be kicked out of restaurants. Now? No. This is as evil a group of people I've seen in my lifetime and they essentially planned to torture thousands of kids as a deterrent to others. That the damage is mental and not physical changes nothing. Anyone who works for Trump deserves any shunning that comes their way. Trump dying of natural causes is probably the best outcome we can hope for at this point. It's going to get a lot uglier.

Trump promised that Mexico would pay for the wall.

I'd like to hear any supporter defend the attempts to get congress to put up the money (much less to rip families apart as negotiational hostages)

Of course, the answer is they knew he was ********ting and didn't care.
Trump didn't mean that Mexico would literally pay for The Wall's construction. They'll pay figuratively because the promise of The Wall got Trump elected and he'll stop Mexico robbing the US through Obama's hugely unfair NAFTA.

(If a genuine Trumpite can better that I'll be very surprised.)

Along with his NPD, he has a raging inferiority complex.
I'm thinking "Low IQ" is the kind of description New York society (which Trump was never able to break into, despite the all his gilded decor and huge erections with all the trappings) will often have applied to Trump. Right after "vulgar", which has always surely been the favourite.

Resentment is something Trump does well (who can forget "Shoulda got it" when tweaked about an Emmy).

I say Congress allocates sixty-two and a half billion dollars for the wall...in matching funds. We won't hold Trump to his promise. In the spirit of bipartisanship, the Democrats will meet him halfway. Mexico only has to pay for half the wall.

Call for it? According to Trump its already being built.
What he says does not always match conditions on the ground.

Fencing exists; there are steel mat "walls" on part of the border (that were used as helicopter landing pads in Vietnam, with about as much success), there are bollards and vehicle barriers other places, double chainlink fences in others. Those are ongoing projects. Trump can call it a wall if he wants.

Is the projected cost 125 billion dollars?

As I understand it, yes that's what he's asked Congress for. The matching funds can always be adjusted if he needs more. Hard for him to argue the Democrats didn't meet him half way when they offered to match, dollar for dollar what he got from Mexico for the wall.

"Surprised that Harley-Davidson, of all companies, would be the first to wave the White Flag. I fought hard for them and ultimately they will not pay tariffs selling into the E.U., which has hurt us badly on trade, down $151 Billion. Taxes just a Harley excuse - be patient! #MAGA"

Yeah, we're winning the **** out of this trade war. Does Trump think Harley will close that overseas factory when the war is over? I knew Trump was stupid but wow. Those jobs just aren't going to come back.

Seriously though, if you could give Trump his wall ($20+billion) and get DACA and some pathway to quasi-citizenship for everyone else here illegally, wouldn't you do it? That was the gist of Andrew Sullivan's latest piece in New Yorker. Worth a read.

Gee .maybe Harley wants to, you know, make a profit?
As for David Lynch, Lynch says lot of crazy crap just for the sake of stiring up the pot. He is best ignored.
His political philosophy is like his last few films:exercises in incoherency.

Oh, the Trumpkins are going to be in a tizzy about that tweet. But as I often tell them: not to worry! Trumpcare covers whiplash.

Trump will crash the economy unless he is stopped. Its' a question of not if, but when.

Seriously? No. Maybe back a century and six months ago during the quasi-shutdown over DACA, but now that ship has sailed. His people are actively torturing children. Dealing with him will only get his taint on you; marking you as someone willing to deal with someone who tortures children. We're well past "this is someone whose views I do not share but I can strike a compromise with" and into "would not piss on if he were on fire" territory.

Besides, he doesn't exactly have a good track record of honoring deals past the next midnight tweet.

Dolt 45's followers are also attacking the Red Hen in DC, which is entirely unaffiliated with the restaurant in Virginia where Ol' Smokey Eye was asked to leave. They are apparently unable to tell the difference.

Not surprising, since they are a bunch of bigoted, racist, idiots.
