Exactly, as to killing birds, compared to cats + buildings combined, wind turbines kill waay less of them: Wind turbines kill minimally an order of magnitude less of birds than free-ranging domestic cats and building strikes combined.

And it's a moot point anyway, because it's not like the guy really gives a **** about birds in the first place.

In his rally Trump pointed out that 52% of Women voted for him in the election.

That is of course not true. Only 41% of Women voted for him. However, 52% of White Women voted for him. Only 4% Black Women and 25% of Hispanic Women voted for him.

So why was the wrong number quoted?

1) Honest mistake.
2) Trump was only talking to/about White Women.
3) Intentional deception.

Take your pick.

Did anyone else see Trump’s speech last night?

I tuned in part way through.

He sure knows how to play to his crowd. But I thought it was a rambling, smug and self-congratulating mess. Typical for him: insulting others, juvenile name calling, rehashing - yet again - his election victory over Hillary, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum. Endorsing the PA Republican candidate came late in the speech and was itself Trump-centric.

Crass populism, the likes of which I never dreamed I’d see in my lifetime.
I turn Trump speeches off the same way I channel surf past commercials. First, there's NOTHING new in any of them. Second they are not newsworthy and the TV news broadcasters need to stop putting them on. It's nothing but free Trump TV.

There was a journalism panel on CSPAN Book TV with Katy Tur and David Kay Johnston yesterday. Tur made a good point they weren't holding back the criticism. I wish Johnston had made more of a point about the 24 hour TrumpTV coverage.

But Johnston did point out all the stories not being covered. Trump has been involved with Russian money since 1982, and, Trump has multiple documented connections to the mafia. NPR refused to put anything on about the Trump mafia connections because they cannot afford to pay to fight lawsuits and the other broadcasters don't do it because they are infotainment news.

Bottom line, it's like an addict. The news media can't give up Trump-heroin even while lamenting contributing to his election.

Trump is incapable of honest mistakes. He's been asked time and time again about mistakes and he always denies them.

Covfefe anyone?

It's 2, because non-white women don't count

Its 2 because in Trump's world only white people matter.

To put this in perspective, Dolt 45 also attacked:

Elizabeth Warren, again using the name "Pocahantes" as a slur,
Oprah Winfrey, because...something,
Maxine Watters, who he called "low IQ" - and who has nothing to do with Pennsylvania.

Ex Presidents, and house minority leaders, are reasonably fair game. These three stand out.

It's almost as if the guy was a white supremacist...

And Steve Bannon has met with the Front National:

Meet the Press showed a clip from the latest Trump speech. He mocks being presidential like a child might. If his followers are not embarrassed by that they are as ignorant and Trump is.

We laugh about that but I occasionally expect that he's going to try to deputize gun wielding citizens to be his presidential force to do stuff like voting security or go out and make citizen's arrests of the undocumented.
We have to do it, folks. Have to do it. The system is so rigged. Last election, millions of illegal votes. Bussed in to New Hampshire from Massachusetts. I mean, it's so bad. So bad. Texas. Florida. But I still won. Still won so big. I mean, historic. Huge electoral college win. Huge. Biggest inauguration ever. You saw it, right? You know they'll try to do it again, the system is rigged. The system is so rigged. The votes. Trying to steal it just like last time. You know they'll try. So we have to be on guard, right? Whatever it takes. Whatever it takes.

Here are Trump's sarcastic remarks on "being presidential" in Moon Township Pennsylvania last night:

What I don't get is how excited some of the crowd becomes. I see the humor but I don't understand people howling with laughter and cheering lines like, "If I came like a stiff, you guys wouldn't be here tonight." A chuckle okay, but roaring with laughter? An underlying issue is, Trump is there to endorse Rick Saccone for Congress but The Dunce's remarks are mostly about himself.

Donnie knows how to market, his business record indicates that. His business record also indicates, he's not so good at delivering the product he makes you think you're buying and he's not so good in the role of CEO. Great fit for the White House. :( And that's not funny.

I think just being in a crowd must affect people - I've been to stand up comedy shows where I laughed my ass off at stuff I probably wouldn't have watching the same special on Netflix.

Recall how people would laugh hysterically in the audience of America's Funniest Home Videos* when some four year old mispronounced a word.

*Admittedly, that could have been edited in from another time.

This is common to all social groups, clans and tribes. A reaction to the "quality" of the comedy or specific joke is secondary to the audience members bonding with each other and therefore forming a cohesive and unified thing. Further, it becomes socially awkward in that situation to be the one who doesn't laugh hard. Everyone else is busting their guts laughing at the leader and you are silent - you must be some kind of traitor or foreign spy.

I know what you're saying yet... Standup comics bomb all the time.
