The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

It's part of the way he works. Laws and rules don't apply to him he just takes what he wants.

remember these old favourites "Take out their families." and "Take the oil."

Trump is once again attacking Jeff Sessions, this time for using the Inspector General of the department of Justice to investigate wire-taping claims made by Trump, instead of using lawyers. (Trump's arguments are that the Inspector General will take to long, and is probably an "Obama guy".)

Hmm... seeing unlikable individuals going at it like this it is hard to know who to root for.

This brings up several issues:

- Doesn't Trump understand that attacking his own people publically may have a negative effect on his ability to hire people in the future? What competent person will want to work for a boss who has a track record of dumping on those who work for him?

<snip>

When has Trump ever shown the slightest interest in having a competent person work for him?

If anything his track record proves that he strives for the exact opposite.

Two newsworthy stories today -- the meeting on background checks for gun purchasers, and the communications director out.

Has Trump ever demonstrated personal courage about anything in his entire life?

Off hand, I cannot think of a single thing that he has ever done which shows personal courage on his part.
Being pissed on by a couple of prostitutes? Not sure I would call that courageous exactly, but it feels like you need some kind of courage for that scenario :/

Not even that - the story was that Trump paid prostitutes to pee on a bed in front of him because it was a bed that Barack and Michelle Obama had slept in.

There's nothing courageous about standing at the side of the room and watching someone pee in a bed.

And btw folks, we are discussing the President of the United States here. We're having a conversation where the relative merits of the POTUS getting p1ssed on or watching someone p1ss from a distance tells us about his courage.

I think the news media is going to have to shorten the time span on one of their favorite headlines: Trump's Bad Week

It's only Wednesday and he's already finished yet another bad week, with two and a half days to go.

When the best news you get is "Hey Boss, Paulie Ukraine's not squealing", you know you're having a rough time.

And within a couple of hours of this, State's best hand on North Korea resigns and Hicks declares "Mission Accomplished!" and rushes to the gangplank.

Looks like Hope Hicks is resigning.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/hope-hicks-says-shes-resigning-from-white-house
Hicks said she had been considering leaving for several months, telling “colleagues that she had accomplished what she felt she could with a job,” the Times said.

Not sure if any of this is due to her being romantically linked to Porter (who had the abuse scandal recently) or because of her having to testify this week.

ETA: Darn... Ninjad!

Doesn’t take long for the leaks to start dripping ...
http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...ump-berated-hicks-after-house-intel-testimony

President Trump reportedly berated former White House communications director Hope Hicks the day before her resignation, according to a new report.
...
Burnett reported one of Trump's "close allies" told CNN that Trump asked Hicks after her testimony "how she could be so stupid."

Apparently, that was the final straw for Hope Hicks," Burnett said.

Just watched the full video of Trump's gun policy meeting. It was interesting. Plenty to disagree with, but Trump seemed more...normal than I'm accustomed to. It's like he broke character and just acted like a real person for a bit. I liked it.

Your just not a Patriot. ;)

I am absolutely a patriot - for my own country. :D

As for yours, well, you have a President that pays women to piss the bed in front of him. You have an utterly disgusting pervert, coward, and probable traitor as your President.

Good luck to you.

nope, I'm a British expat living in Australia.

Would never live in the USA, don't like their healthcare and they only get 10 days vacation leave a year. Love to visit though.

And hay, one mans perversion is just another mans watersports.

As a British ex pat in Australia you really are no better than Trump's supporters.

Sneering from the sidelines is no substitute for constructive action.

This makes how many Communication Directors Trump had had????

A similar question: How many "senior officials" have pulled the plug on Trump? Somebody is going to have to grease the hinges on the exit door.

ETA: I just found the answer to my question. Go here and scroll down about a third of the page to the first video.

Spoiler: A lot.

It's pretty baffling and I'll be amazed if it doesn't get walked back or "clarified" at some point. Then again, I remember him backing the Democrats' plan to use the terrorism watch list to prevent gun sales way back during the campaign and it somehow just didn't raise eyebrows when he said that.
[Suckabee voice] He meant he wanted legislation that gave the police tools to intervene before a shooting. The Democrats had control of the government and they didn't pass any gun legislation at all [/suckabee voice]

Or was Trump got at?

Mr President did you know Kenyan born Obama was so weak and such a loser he couldn't get the bill passed? What a loser, it needs the greatest President to get the bill passed!

Here's a hilarious reader post from WaPo:
"This is the final boarding call for Flipped Loyalties Airlines flight 86 to Witnessville and New Life City. Please leave your professional baggage behind and have your plea deal paperwork in hand as you approach the gateway.

"And on behalf of our captain and special counsel, Robert Mueller III, welcome aboard Flipped Loyalties Airlines. Please fasten your safety belts, as the forecast is calling for heavy turbulence ahead."
