The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

I think the news media is going to have to shorten the time span on one of their favorite headlines: Trump's Bad Week

It's only Wednesday and he's already finished yet another bad week, with two and a half days to go.

When the best news you get is "Hey Boss, Paulie Ukraine's not squealing", you know you're having a rough time.

To be fair, hearing stories about terrified children is the only way Stephen Miller can get to sleep - Chase Mitchell

As much as I detest the guy, I'd give him a pass on this one. I know for a fact that when you're exhausted, the subject matter in meetings, no matter how interesting or boring, does not matter one whit. Even sitting in the front row at the Company Director's meeting can't change that. (I got called out on it.)

Don't have time right now, but maybe someone can calculate $20/week, earning the average rate of return from the S&P 500, and calculate its value over 20 or 30 years.

Compounding interest can result in some pretty large numbers, even with inflation figured in. Kind of a "guaranteed win" down the road.

Don't forget to include inflation, the occasional pre retirement stock market crash, and taxes on earnings. Still generally a guaranteed win but often not a big one

Trump is once again attacking Jeff Sessions, this time for using the Inspector General of the department of Justice to investigate wire-taping claims made by Trump, instead of using lawyers. (Trump's arguments are that the Inspector General will take to long, and is probably an "Obama guy".)

Hmm... seeing unlikable individuals going at it like this it is hard to know who to root for.

This brings up several issues:

- Doesn't Trump understand that attacking his own people publically may have a negative effect on his ability to hire people in the future? What competent person will want to work for a boss who has a track record of dumping on those who work for him?

- Trump should actually WANT the wire-tapping investigation to go on. After all, any rational people understand that this is just a distraction by Trump and his minions to deflect attention away from Trump's own corruption. Just by making the claims he has managed to convince the gullible among his own followers. Any investigation is likely to go nowhere so the best thing to do would be to let the issue quietly die rather than highlight his own failures again.

How is anyone getting that link to open without fixing it? You have an extra " and a ' in the address.

I'm reminded of that saying that if a local bank loans Joe Schmoe a thousand dollars, it's Joe who's sweating the balloon payment. If the bank loaned him a million dollars, it's the banker who's doing the sweating.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions defends himself against president Trump's attacks, says he'll continue to `discharge my duties with integrity and honor'

The assertion was made that only 2% of Americans owned stock.

I was the one who mentioned that number, which was not the point of my post but rather just a bit of information. I did read that somewhere but now cannot find it. So I withdraw the point. It raised far more discussion that it was worth.

Rat planning for an escape when the ship sinks.
Not sure how well that will work for Sessions. And in effect he may be burning all his bridges.

Trumpsters will not like him if he stands up to the great and glorious leader of Trump. And anyone who hated Trump to begin with will probably still consider him complicit in all of the administration's crimes. So, he'll end up friendless.

I have ad blocker on and it didn't block me.
It's a dumb article anyway. So what Miller fell asleep in a meeting. Big deal.
Hey, if a cough during the 2016 election is enough to convince Trumpsters that Hillary was suffering from the plague, then its only fair that we consider Miller's sleeping at a meeting about school safety as evidence of something deeper/more problematic.

After all, we want to be fair and balanced, don't we?
