Hell yes. And we need to make sure that Sorkin has all the reefer that he wants to smoke when he is writing it.

I want him to expand on and wander from the book with wild fictions to make Trump look extra horrible. Show some pussy grabbing right there in the Oval Office. A small refrigerator full of Big Macs. He has a BB gun and shoots songbirds perched in trees outside of the office. Mostly he plays golf and really sucks.

Start the series with a scene from the Presidential Debate. He greets Hillary right before the feed cameras start rolling. Trump grabs her pussy and says, "Good luck, cutie. May the best man win!"

This will be impeachment gold and we will finally get our Pence.

It turned out he was referring to the Small Business Optimism Index, which was the highest it's ever been in 2017. Of course, this index is created by the National Federation of Independent Business, a non-profit that opposes "undue government interference" in small business. They were also the lead plaintiff opposing the Affordable Care Act. I can't imagine why their survey is in favor of Trump.
I notice that the Wikipedia page says they have a membership base of "more than 325,000 small business owners". The last time a survey was done by the Small Business Administration, there were 27.9 million small businesses in the US. That's about a 1.2% representation.

NFIB is not quite a crackpot organization, but they're pretty clearly partisan. If I was an American businessman, I don't know why I'd join, it's just a wing of the Republican Party.

Small business is better represented through the Chamber of Commerce, who are notable for endorsing Clinton in the last election, and currently are very critical of Trump's trade policy. Link: [US Chamber of Commerce]

Regarding 'approval rating' - there are general surveys all the time, and Trump seems to be hovering at the worst in recorded history during his tenure so far, compared to past presidents at this point in their term: [How unpopular is Donald Trump]. If his popularity goes up another 25% (10 points) he will be at the Gerald Ford level.

Of interest, he's had a bit of a bounce since an all time low in mid December. I don't have an explanation for that.

You tried making the claim of 'martyrdom' for Trump in the 'path to reelection' thread. It is as invalid here as it was there.

The only people who would consider Trump a martyr are the people who were already Trump supporters to begin with. There is nothing about Trump that would elicit any sort of sympathy which would make a Democrat or an independent decide to vote for him.

The best you could hope for is that anyone isn't already a trump supporter would hear the story, say "that's silly" and then go on with their life. In the worst case scenario, it causes at least a few Trump supporters to think "this is the last straw" and not vote for him again.
