No, I don’t think he’s a xenophobic, race-baiting religious bigot—as president.

- Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.)

I guess my only question is, why would anyone be "taken aback" by the fact that a white supremacist sees no value in immigration from non-white countries?

I mean, he's wrong of course, among other African countries, Nigerians are well known for being highly educated. But this is exactly who he always has been.

Plus, Nigerians are very wealthy. I often get offers from them to share millions of dollars with me.

I have not seen the full quote, in context. But I would not be surprised if it reads like he thinks Africa itself is a country.

One thing I find mildly amusing is Wolf Blitzer's obvious embarassment at having to avoid voicing the word that other people on the network (and the chyrons) have no trouble stating (some doing so with great relish, notably Philip Mudd).

Especially since Blitzer is saying "s-hole", but his first syllable sounds like he's saying "ass".

In the last several minutes, I've heard "s-house" also being quoted, rather than "s-hole".

Fuel for spin? "Hey, they didn't even get the word right! Fake news!"

One of the sources briefed on the Thursday Oval Office meeting with lawmakers confirmed Trump asked, "Why do we want all these people from '******** countries' coming here?"

'Cause they don't want to live a ******** anymore!

It really isn't that complicated.

After this, truly, there is no argument to be made that you can support Trump and be a loyal American. That wedge should be driven between Trump supporters and real, patriotic Americans.

Haiti is a ****hole country.

He could have asked why we seem to bring in so many people from poor countries instead, which is a question many Americans ask. He said ****hole instead (allegedly), which again, is exactly the way many Americans phrase it. I'm sure nobody here has ever said that though, of course.

I agree with his general sentiment - immigration is out of control. We bring in too many people we can't afford to take care of. I have said it in exactly the same way. ****hole countries. Doesn't make someone a racist. If you think it does well too bad for you. Russia is a ****hole country, I think.

I love some of the media hysteria over this: "If Trump said this then he is absolutely a racist!" bla bla bla. Same ol' same ol'. The more people bitch the more - nothing. It hasn't helped one bit. It really hasn't, has it?

Pick and choose your outrage and maybe I'll listen, but it's just white noise these days (no pun). We aren't always defending Trump - a lot of the time we are just sick of hysterical ninnies hogging all the news sites.

what makes it racist, dear ignorant writer, is that he asks why we're not taking people in from say, Norway.

There is only one real difference. And if you can't see it and acknowledge it, you're part of the problem.

Re: ****hole countries: Trump wins back wavering base. 512D chess.

A 4D tesseract projects a cube into 3D space.

A 3D cube projects a rectangle (or hexagon) into 2D space.

The hyperdimensionality of Trump's object, in everyday space, is the shadow of a lesion.

If the U.S. had a competent (and non-racist) president, they would have found an alternate way to say it. Normally you would expect the leader of the free world to be a bit more... eloquent.

First of all, immigration is not 'out of control'. U.S. unemployment rate is almost at 4%. The U.S. fertility rate is dropping. Society has more than enough ability to absorb extra immigrants. In fact, a case could be made that the U.S. needs more immigrants.

Secondly, keep in mind that Trump did not just say "stop immigration from those (bad) countries", he also suggested bringing in more immigrants from places like Scandinavia. If immigration is "out of control" then you should be condemning trump because he suggested immigrants from Scandinavia.

Lastly, problem is not just his description of the countries in a non-flattering way; trump is a racist because his solution to the problem is to force people in those countries to stay, even though those potential immigrants are likely not the reason their original countries are in such poor shape.

No, pretty much everything I've seen is you defending Trump. Face it... you are supporting a racist and attempting to justify his bigotry.
