So we're finding out that a lot of liberal public figures who have prattled and prattled about women's rights have very little respect for women.

There's a line between asking for evidence and refusing to even click on the link leading to the evidence you asked. It sounds like you're making sure you'll never get said evidence.

And wikipedia should never come up at all

Why not? Because it didn't use to be sourced? It may not be the end all of your research but it's usually a good place to start.

Yup. This is a liberal problem. Agree 100%. Definitely not an issue that affects people from every walk of life and philosophy. Definitely not more of a "man" thing. No siree.

The only person who can make sure I'll never get evidence is the person who made the claim in the first place. It's not my job to track down whatever original source they believe best supports their assertions.

I await the first photos of Franken's sleazy/or innocent butt grab so we could get an idea what the actual issue was. I can't find anything except the purposeful joke groping (Huffington and Tweeden) but that's the limit of Google searching for older or more trivial stuff when there is too much current news and commentary on an issue.

You'd think with gazillions of Franken-fan photos someone would have taken one from behind of Franken during one of the events.

Maybe he should resign. Many decent folk think so. I'm not convinced, but I'd certainly consider it.

But he didn't diddle underaged girls. That's much worse.

No, I can point you to a political figure who has such allegations against him, yet many are rushing to defend the accused pedophile, including the President. Pretty bad, innit?

ETA: Would Franken be ok then if there were underage girls? Would you then just be able to take his word for it?

Agreed (except maybe when the topic is non controversial, e.g. Sedum).

I don't like naked links. Naked links lead to miscommunication. I want to see specific bits quoted that make the case. In order to confidently quote the bits accurately, we need to go to the source.

In my view, skepticism in the context of politics should be based on principles of journalism. A journalist should always go to the source.

Nice. Clear and to the point.

Franken seems apologetic. Moore simply denies wrongdoing, despite pretty good evidence to the contrary. Moore's offenses are far worse than Franken's.

So, let's just presume that Moore is innocent. Why the hell not? What's the worst that can happen?

I corrected your post. C'mon fellas this is really basic stuff. This thread is about Al Franken and his conduct. I can see the appeal of his stalwart defenders desperate to change the subject to Moore or maybe even other real sickos like Conyers, Weinstein, Weiner (who is flat out in jail right now for his attempted kiddy diddling) or an actual rapist Bill Clinton.

Is Franken's conduct worse than the conduct alleged against Moore or the conduct of creeps like Conyers, Weinstein, Weiner or Bill Clinton? Probably not.

But the fact that Moore and the Democrat party in particular is loaded with creeps does not in any way shape or form excuse Franken's conduct, nor justify polluting this thread with fallacious arguments.

Now that is done, any new reports of Frankengrope cupping asses or breasts or just the six we know of now?
