James O'Keefe and Project Veritas strike again!

Pretty much this. Even if she was discredited before it ever went to print, they'll still spin is as the WP interviewing a person making fake accusations against Moore. FAKE accusation against Moore. Just keep repeating that over and over.

The fact that the accusations were done with the clear intent to obfuscate the issue will drop away, all that the conservative blogsphere will remember is that a MSM was associated with fake accusations.

Also, weren't these the people that broke onto the scene saying that ACORN was helping them with setting up housing for child sex workers? IIRC, the people called the police as soon as they left & once it became 100% clear that no one had helped them do that, the sting suddenly became about proving ACORN wasn't properly filing paperwork.

I blame our former state AG and current Governor, Jerry Brown.

When O'keefe et al recorded ACORN workers w/o their knowledge and/or consent in California and disseminated the videos he violated a whole raft of state laws.

Rather than arrest, indict and convict, Brown granted O'keefe immunity in exchange for all unedited records so that he could perform an investigation into ACORN

He had the ability to both throw the book at O'keefe and investigate ACORN, but chose not to.

I'd much prefer that O'keefe had faced a little bit of state time (under California PC, up to three years in state prison and maximum fine of $2,500.00 per count) and the inevitable civil suit for fsm only knows how much.

That at least would put him out of our misery for awhile,

Nobody's ever accused the Veritas crowd of being brain surgeons, but when you have a large group of people who will simply believe whatever they're told (because LIEBERALS amirite?!), you don't need to be smart. You just need to be sleezy.

Is this like the eleventh consecutive fail for O'Keefe and his team? The only partial success they had was catching some low-level party types agreeing that kinda maybe bussing in primary voters might work. Evidence of blather: about four points. Evidence of any actual wrongdoing or follow through: Zero

How does he keep suckering in backers?

Because it's effective ?

Even if there is zero evidence and O'Keefe and his team are entirely discredited in the eyes of anyone with the vaguest interest in anything remotely truthful, in the highly partisan US his "discoveries" are grist to the alt-right mill and keeps the alt-right electorate angry and prepared to turn out and vote. :(

I think the underlying issues are effective, I'm questioning PV and O'Keefe.

He's had nothing even remotely similar to the early ACORN success in a long long time. That was carried and is still cited as gospel by some. And that was years ago. His latest ventures have all been flops. "Victories" of "Ha Ha Almost Fooled 'Em" are nothing compared to what they hope for, e.g. the ACORN results.

Movement conservatism is a con and the base are marks.

What are the standards being used for success? They framed political debate on planned parenthood and inspired a mass shooter, and I suspect their claims are still widely believed.

It would only count as fails if getting to the facts was the goal, and I don't think anyone can seriously believe that.

His felony bugging of the office of a congress woman didn't get him out of circulation either.

Hey I think you can count the planned parenthood shooting as a win for his side.

Isn't this illegal too?

I mean if they sent in a woman to falsely claim she was impregnated...isn't that conspiracy?

That wasn't O'Keefe, though. It was people certainly inspired by his scmbaggery, but it was some group calling itself 'Center for Medical Progress'.

While they got a good old shooting out of it to warm their hearts, they also got some felony indictments.
