Gratitude, Compulsion, Idiocy or Nobility?

1. Yes. So did Thuggee.

2. No. It suggests cap wallahs wearing off-white pajamas squatting on their hams while making small deals in rice and cooking oil. Not bad guys, but deeply, widely, comprehensively

BORING.

Tks. Diet control, meditation, physical excercises on vísiting pillgramage, temples, dicipline in life, taking pure food, wearing cotton clóthers, vibratiónal effects, morality, good society etc etc, are these not physically, mentally and spiritually healthful? I have seen, most who seriously followeth these are better healthful.

What's the average Jain lifespan? And the leading cause of death for Jainoids.

About answer #1: Do you know anything at all about the Thugs?

Good, more healthful longevity. Main angle ís haelthful, stress free and enjoying life.No odd affect by practicing. Qúite actíve life. Not contradictory anyway. Usually peaceful death. I shall tell about #1 later.

No. I want facts: how long do jainists live? What kills them?

Facts, Mahakumar. Not your babbling. Facts. With statistics.

Reason, in a word.

It can not be gernalized. Those practice with dedication live longer than other and in better health. I have not noticed or heard , they esp live short life and die in misery. My father is 87 still in good health. Many other are 75+.

You say that it cannot be generalised, and then make a generalisation. And an unsupported one at that.

What evidence do you have that Jains who "practice with dedication live longer than other and in better health"?

We took my Wyoming born and bred mother out for dinner on her 90th. birthday and she put away a steak. With her own teeth. I'm only sorry we didn't get her drunk.

Might have taken some doing. People who grew up during Prohibition tended to have a hollow leg.

I still respect the Jains, in a small way -- not a rational respect, but an aesthetic respect.

I do NOT repect smugness, sanctimony, and that pride in being ignorant that the world's religious zealots all display.

Reason, Kumar babu, facts, rationality, sanity. Try to display some regard for them during your vanishing lifetime.

Myself.

Do you think that if you had practised Jainism with more dedication you wouldn't have developed type 2 diabetes?

How can you tell?

Mostly, those interacted with me neither remain Rational skeptic nor rational scientíst nor rational belíever but just become Egoistic or habituatèd skeptics due to so much superiority complex n aurguments if not vested interests. Routine for common modern person on excessive odd involvements. Best to leave.

Btw, how this truth can be applicable to this topic issues: "Dó regard everyone as you do to yourself". Everyone and évery being are synonymous.

This is irrelevant to the question. You claimed that you are evidence that Jains who "practice with dedication live longer than other and in better health". Did you die younger when you didn't "practice with dedication" than when you did?

Yes.

Nice. Just insult everybody, then you can afterwards wonder why they won't respect you.

Hans

Oh, yes. Healthy diet, exercise, avoid stress. Good for everybody. Some form of meditations is also fine. Has nothing to do with any kind of religion, though.

But tell me, Kumar: Who PAYS for these Jainists (or whatever they are called) so they can live their healthy, stress-free lives? Who grows their pure food? Who harvests, spins, weaves and sows their fine cotton clothes? Who builds and maintains their temples?

If you avoid excesses, upper-class life has always been more healthy. But who does the work? How is the working class going to be able to live that sort of life?

It is not nécessary, one who need to practice religión, can not do roútine works for his need. The issue is whether he is involved in good practice or not. Wealthy life or poor life is not relàted to relígióus life because ít does not need more money. Anyway màin issue:
So it is confirmed that religións çreate faith and varióús healthfúl activíties. So both of these have scientifically proved benéfits so it alsó proves religións, jainism or other have scientific benefits, so scientific. So claims made by Jay and other that Jainism ís not scientific are proven false.
