Isn't the media actually reporting that Franken has been accused of kissing and groping Tweeden? That certainly seems to be the case. The photo of Franken with his hands posed over Tweeden's chest has been carried by many news outlets. They seem to be doing their job.
 
I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but Leeann Tweeden has accepted Franken's apologies and doesn't want him to resign.

It could be that both sides yelling that he's as bad as Roy Moore, or that she is a lying right-wing attack dog, are wrong, and that they are going to settle the problem amicably.

If that's the case it would certainly make a refreshing change - that he has made a complete apology and not some half-hearted "accept my apologies if you got your knickers in a twist", and she has managed to speak out while keeping a sense of perspective.

As far as I can see, all's well that ends well.

No. It's none of her business how this turns out. This is between Franken, the other senators, his party, and his constituents.

The senate is in entity. Senators are just a bunch of individual idiots who have agreed to some arbitrary internal rules between them. Same as if this were the Goonies deciding what to do with a member.
