Cont: The Trump Presidency Part III

Why don't you just say "Americans are a bunch of idiots" and be done with it.
And the Dems don't mind running up the bill either. Both parties are total hypocrites when it comes to the deficit.

I did not say that. I said that debt-financed growth has been a hallmark of Republican policy. The run-up under Obama corresponds to an exceptional moment in economic history, when a dangerous instability met a system with its shields down (Glass-Steagal went under Clinton, btw).

What I would say is that extrapolating from today back, its is no longer CT to observe the pernicious effect of money in elections and production of propaganda, starting with old-school "think-tanks" going back decades. Trump is the culmination of a long trend and the result of hard work all along it. I also think econ jumped the "is-should" shark with Objectivist-inspired monetarism and social policy, starting with Freidman and continuing with Greenspan "the Gobsmacked."

Theory has triumphed over fact, dogma over reality, and does so now more than ever. So, what I would say is, the whole shebang could use a heck of a lot more skepticism and a lot less model-gazing and doctrine worship.

Trump pitches for $2 trillion Saudi Aramco oil float

"Would very much appreciate Saudi Arabia doing their IPO of Aramco with the New York Stock Exchange. Important to the United States!"

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/926793510723796993

He may be disappointed, they are already talking to the London Stock Exchange and the The Financial Conduct Authority, the UK City watchdog, is currently consulting on whether to create a new category for sovereign-controlled companies who wish to list on the London Stock Exchange.

Also, Prime Minister Theresa May met the Chairman of Saudi Aramco earlier this year, Khalid Al-Falih, who is also Saudi Arabia's energy minister.

If the Brits get the contract, I’m expecting a glorious twitter meltdown.

Marcos. Shoes. Lots of them. Did you see them? I know shoes. Good shoes. I know shoe people. It is obvious she didn't know shoe people. I have shoes...the best shoes...she didn't. If you saw them, you know what I'm talking about. Not. The. Best. Shoes. Can't decide on shoes, can't make good choices. I make choices with the best people. THE. BEST. PEOPLE....etc...etc...

I was thinking more like, "you have a better handle on the drug problem here than we do."

"How about that World War II? That was a great war. We won. But we can still be friends."

WWII? Tremendous. The best war. Remember? I have one of the best memories. Great war. great people. Football players kneeling? BAD! Vietnam? What is pho? At least Koreans BBQ. Asia, SAD! Bone spurs, bone spurs.

President Trump Committed Another Impeachable Offense on Friday

He basically threatened to fire Sessions if the FBI doesn't investigate Democrats for things like: something that wouldn't be a crime even if were true (DNC "rigging" the primaries); something that's already been investigated ad nauseam (Hillary's emails); something already being investigated by Mueller (Tony Podesta); and allegations that just don't stand up to the facts (Clinton/Russia/Uranium One imaginary scandal).

Nixon's abuse of executive powers to sic the IRS and FBI on political "enemies" was deemed an impeachable offense even by Republicans. Maybe they were more honorable than the ones we have today, or maybe they were just more fearful of voters than Republicans seem to be in the Age of Trump.

The ghost writer of The Art of The Deal predicted this type of behaviour last September.
