Kevin Spacey accused of sexual assault on minor......and he's gay

Unwanted physical contact is probably the bright line here. Physically picking up and carrying a person against their will, putting them in a bed, and literally crawling on top of them expressing a sexual intent, I think can pretty safely be deemed an assault. It's quite decidedly over the line.
 
If, as people in the known seem to suggest, this was less of an one time drunken misbehaviour and instead just a part of a long running abusive and otherwise exploitive behaviour I wouldn't be surprised if more examples become publicly known.

To his defense though he didn't bring up his sexuality unprompted, Rapp explicitly stated that he was irked at least in part by Spacey being closeted. Was he supposed to simply ignore that?

Yup. The good homosexual not only isn't sexually attracted towards anyone under the age of 18, the age when it's nice and wholesome to be lusted over, they'd never ever abuse anyone let alone break the law even when gay sex is completely illegal.

I just realised. The eighties:

I think it might also be difficult to make movie about a middle-aged guy lusting after his daughter's cheerleader friend and bedding her, especially if you decide to cast Kevin Spacey whose character also has the gall to make a false claim of sexual harassment against his boss.

It would be as crazy as a Louis CK movie about working for a director accused of rape and pedophilia in which one of the characters pretends to jerk off in front of an actress.

Are they even allowed to have teenagers in movies or TV in America these days? I thought that most actors portraying teenagers were at least 22 years old or something like that.

Those were body doubles with the makeup artist. You need to pick other Brooke Shields things to get real underage nudity not simulated.

Well the reasons for that are often practical, the requirements for schooling and such while using child actors puts a hamper on the shooting schedule and so it is far easier to use adult actors.

I assume he meant it along the lines of "I choose to act on my sexual preferences" which presumably includes exploiting desperate and potentially vulnerable young men and teenage boys trying to make it big in Hollywood.

Then again I wouldn't be surprised if his attractiveness and fame would be more than enough to get him any partners of his choosing. Apparently hooking up with some star struck beautiful teenager enthralled by his manliness, something which they could never experience with peers their own age, is just not enough for some people.
