So how does this presidential pardon shenanigans work? If someone is found guilty can president dingus just get ‘em off the hook?

That's it in a nutshell. The trouble for The Hair is, if he gives a pardon it pretty much takes away someone's ability to plead the 5th and not self incriminate.

Eh? I’m not familiar with US law, so can you explain what that means?

Enshrined in the Bill of Rights is the 5th Amendment to the US Constitution (The Bill of Rights being the first ten amendments). The 5th Amendment states that you cannot be compelled to testify against yourself or be forced to incriminate yourself. If The Hair gives a pardon to someone charged by Mueller, that person cannot then refuse to testify in court or in front of a grand jury citing the 5th Amendment protection against self incrimination.

A grand jury is a jury convened to determine if there is probable cause (ie is it likely this person committed a crime) that an individual committed a crime and should be brought before a court to be judged by a jury of their peers.

Do you think he knows that?

And what's to stop him pardoning any perjury?

"I did it all out of a misguided sense of loyalty"

What existential threat would that be?

Hate.

Rampant hate.

Hate of other opinions.

Hate of other races.

Hate of other religions.

Hate on the left.

Hate on the right.

Hate in the center.

Hate of slow drivers.

Hate of slow servers.

Hate of cops.

Hate of immigrants.

Hate of fast drivers.

Hate of the other.

Hate of the self.

Hate of the loser.

Hate of the winner.

Hate of the atheist

Hate of the fundamentalist Christian.

Hate.

They don't need to be found guilty.

They don't even need to be charged with anything.

Ford gave Nixon;

a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.
And he was under no obligation to set any date limitations on it, either. He just chose Nixon's term in office as President.

The only restriction I am aware of is that it is limited to crimes under Federal law. Crimes committed under state laws are not included.

Looks like it’s Manafort and a former associate Rick Gates.

Manafort has allegedly surrendered to authorities.

So a guy we already knew was in the hot seat busted for activities not clearly linked to the campaign? I know it's still just starting but it's a little anticlimactic.

Mueller thinks he has a strong case that Manafort was a Foreign Agent before Trump hired him.
What reason could there be for him to stop being a Foreign Agent when he is working directly for the possible next president?
