No, I doubt it. The northern prefectures of Japan would not be directly on a flight path to Guam as far as I understand it.

No, it headed North East over North Japan. Guam is to the South East, quite some distance away.
However, there is - or was - a US naval ship in the North area between Japan and N Korea.

According to the graphics on the news here - on pretty much all the channels - the missile landed East of Hokkaido after flying across Japan, mostly in the channel between Hokkaido and Aomori.
There are some graphics showing the relative ranges of the different missiles that North Korea have - Scuds, Rodong, Musudan - and it seems this one is about the range of a Rodong, but I do not know if they have confirmed which one it is yet.

Oh wait, I misunderstood. Looks like the missile came down 1180 km East of Hokkaido, which means that it far exceeds the range of a Rodong. It is probably a Musudan, which is also known as a Hwasong.

That's the worry about inaccurate missiles. They might hit by mistake. It's extremely reckless to fly a missile through a country's airspace without knowing if it is clear. Apparently earlier this month, when North Korea fired their last volley, an Air France plane was ten minutes away from the missile.

Who knows? For fifteen minutes Japanese citizens were in great fear with sirens going off and being told via urgent TV and text messages to hunker down in a sturdy basement in a sturdy building.
Fact is, it was probably too high for the Japanese to shoot down, and some say it would be impossible to shoot these down anyway. If so, North Korea now knows Japan has no defence.
Obviously the Dear One is a maniac and is trying to provoke the USA (what if it had gone in the direction of Guam?) and Japan, knowing it is protected by Russia and China.
