Merged All things Trump + Russia

While it's cute that the right wingers have finally managed to stop flailing aimlessly and started forming a line of defense, it is a particularly turgid defense, and you right wingers on these boards should be deeply ashamed of yourselves.

Your fuhrer played with the Ruskies. He's guilty as sin. It's time to impeach and replace.

Many are feeling that way as well. If Trump continues on his course of disaster, more within the GOP may jump ship and he will be in serious trouble.

The innate dishonesty of the right is on full display anyway. It's pretty disgusting to watch.

Nothing. The term as you defined it is too broad to be legally meaningful.

In regard to Trump Jr. and to make it very simple, his meeting was an attempt to collude with the Russian government to get Trump, Sr. elected. After all, we have his own emails as proof.

Wait... high-ranking members of the Clinton campaign met with representatives of a hostile foreign power to conspire to influence the outcome of the election?

Wow, that's quite a bombshell.

Got a link to the story?

"High-ranking"? Nope.

I doubt any high-ranking officials will ever be linked to it, the high ranking Clinton types have been wallowing in this type of **** for so long, they probably know better then to be linked to something like this. That's what the expendable staffers are for

A former DNC staffer described the exchange as an “informal conversation,” saying “‘briefing’ makes it sound way too formal,” and adding, “We were not directing or driving her work on this.” Yet, the former DNC staffer and the operative familiar with the situation agreed that with the DNC’s encouragement, Chalupa asked embassy staff to try to arrange an interview in which Poroshenko might discuss Manafort’s ties to Yanukovych.

Looking forward to your dismissal of this info.

Trump Jr. wasn't engaged in espionage. And just like newspapers don't have legal liability for publishing classified information that was illegally leaked to them, Trump Jr. would have no legal liability for publicizing information that was illegally obtained through espionage either. And lastly, the source being Russia doesn't suffice to make information they have "espionage".

No, Donkey Don Jr. was the one the espionage was being conducted on - and he fell for it like the greedy egotistical idiot that he is.

I Am The Scum already posted the text of the law. And I already responded. If you read "thing of value" as including speech, then you've criminalized speech, and I don't see how that can possibly survive 1st amendment scrutiny.

It's a really bizarre argument to assert the "thing of value" is speech.

The "thing of value" is clearly information, and all the resources that were expended in acquiring that information.

That he also neglected to mention on his security clearance questionnaire.

As I recall, it's Kushner who failed to inform, not Jr. Still, that's another crime related to this mess.

(And the whole "6 degrees of separation" thing is a farce regardless. Putin's not the brightest guy, but he is smart enough to outsmart this car crash of an administration with ease. It should be assumed that he's behind this until shown otherwise - that's simply how security is done.)

This is why Trump giving secrets to the Russians isn't a big deal to people like Ziggurat. It's just speech, after all.

It's almost amusing that this one meeting is being treated by some here as if it happened in a vacuum, as if there were not subsequent actions taken and problematic/improper meetings with Russian representatives (unquestionably official ones) held by staffers working for the not-quite-honorable-enough-to-be-considered-an-animal currently occupying the Oval Office.

Yes. Good catch, Mumbles.

How about this. When Trump said no one from the campaign ever met with with the Ruskies, Jr., Manafort and Jared just looked at each other and said "oh ******!".

What discussions? What specific information was imparted during these discussions? What information did Chalupa provide to the Clinton campaign from these discussions? To whom did she provide it? How did the Clinton campaign act on this information? In what way did it influence the election?

As soon as the Clinton campaign/DNC release there minutes from the meetings they held with Chalupa and how they encouraged her to arrange a meeting with the Ukrainian president to discuss their opposition data research, I will let you know.

Trump Junior believed the lawyer connected to the Russian government? That's news to me. Last I read he only believed the information she had came from the Russian government.

What exactly do you think speech is? And do you think you can prohibit newspapers from publishing things because they had to pay reporters to write the story?

I like how in a single statement you demonstrate how unfalsifiable your beliefs are - that fact that there is no evidence is just proof that they're good at covering their tracks - and at the same time, you admit what idiots Trump's lackeys are.

This article does a nice job of it.

Let me know when you have any actual evidence. I'd start by looking for statements that don't contain the words "try" and "might".

You'll probably have to wait for tonight's episode of Hannity to receive your new talking points.

No, Donkey Don Jr. was the one the espionage was being conducted on - and he fell for it like the greedy egotistical idiot that he is.

What information do you imagine they got from spying on him at that meeting?

Do you think they discovered what he looks like? :jaw-dropp

I was trying to think along the lines of "what would I do in this situation," and I realized I've actually been in this situation. Russian hackers approached my employer attempting to sell some corporate intelligence on a competitor that they obtained somehow. We reported it to CSIS and they took it from there.

And we're a phone company. Wouldn't an American be even more protective of their elections than I am with something as trivial as wifi footprint?

Are you asserting that getting Trump Sr. elected is the bad thing which makes it collusion?

If so, well, that's got no legal significance at all, and only moral significance to certain partisans.

So... no evidence, then. Thanks!

Trump Junior believed the lawyer connected to the Russian government? That's news to me. Last I read he only believed the information she had came from the Russian government.

Which would connect her to the Russian government. Unless, what? The belief was that she found the information lying in the street?

Trump, the liar.

Trump says Putin would have preferred Hillary Clinton as president

President Trump said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin would have preferred Hillary Clinton as U.S. president instead of himself.

In an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network's Pat Robertson, the president said that Russia would have benefited from a Clinton victory because she would weaken the military and drive up energy prices.

However, the emails of Trump Jr. and our intelligence services show that Trump is lying.

As confirmed by US intelligence agencies.

The U.S. intelligence community, however, concluded earlier this year that Putin organized a campaign involving covert intelligence operations and overt propaganda to undermine faith in the U.S. election, disparage Clinton and help Mr. Trump's election chances. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-says-putin-would-have-preferred-hillary-clinton-as-president/

Trump has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt since taking office, he is unfit to be president of the United States and that is a bad thing for America. In regard to Trump Jr., his emails speak for themselves.
