Many others know the Bible is the true inspired word of God, why don't you?
This is your argument? "Many others know"? How do you know they are right? Where is your proof that the Bible is the word of God?

Many know that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and other fairy tales like God are not true, why not you?kurious_kathy said:Many others know the Bible is the true inspired word of God, why don't you?
Kathy doesn't exactly unerstand what cogent argumentation means. Logic is something to be used only when it suits her beliefs. You are unlikely to get answers to your questions. Beliefs are reselient to such logical queries. But keep asking them anyway.Taffer said:This is your argument? "Many others know"? How do you know they are right? This is a vicious and stupid lie.kurious_kathy said:You will not see any atheist relief groups rushing to provide aid to our friends devastated by Katrina. There is no "Non-believer's Purse," or "Secular Vision" or "Atheists' Army" out there helping those in need.
Mohammad is a false prophet, Jesus is the Messiah! He is the only one that saves us. And the logic is that we have been warned to test the deceiving spirits and false doctrines.RandFan said:Kathy doesn't exactly unerstand what cogent argumentation means. BTW, many others "know" that the Koran is the word of God. Why doesn't Kathy?
"Many others" is an appeal to the gallery BTW, and it IS fallacious.

"Logic" does not mean what you think it means. And the logic is that we have been warned to test the deceiving spirits and false doctrines.
Evidence? The Bible is Gods Holy Word and it's been proven many times over!

I, too, am skeptical of Kathy's claim of "no atheist relief groups", but in fairness, your post is not directly responsive to it. The organizations to which you refer are, strictly speaking, either not relief groups (American Atheists, American Humanist Association, Atheists Online, Center for Inquiry, Infidel Guy) or not atheist (Hands On Humanity, Red Cross).Dr Adequate said:This is a vicious and stupid lie.
It is vicious because it is motivated entirely by hatred of atheists, and it is stupid because it is so very easy to prove that it isn't true:
American Atheists
American Humanists
Atheists Online
Atheists United
Center For Inquiry
Hands On Humanity
Infidel Guy
This is not even to mention the countless individual atheists who have given money or time, nor the avowedly secular organisations such as the Red Cross which have also done their share.

Actually I think atheists are just deceived people! A deceived person does not know they are being deceived. And even though I was never an athiest, I have been a deceived person in the past as well. My differences are that I believed too many of the other false teachings on a spiritual level. As a pagan I was too optomistic and dabbled with the occult. I found my openess had led me astray, and it wasn't OK.jjramsey said:There may be no atheist relief groups, but there are certainly relief groups that are not tied to any particular religion and are thus basically secular. The Red Cross is certainly one such group.
I think also that kurious_kathy is implying that atheists are selfish and so wouldn't be willing to engage in organized altruism, which is false.
So you have said... over and over... your whole life have been filled with one fantasy after another... and you needed another fantasy to save you from the prior ones. We get it. You loved the Devil. Now you've given God a try. If He doesn't work out, you'll try the Goddess or the Great Turtle or maybe you'll become a Democrat. We get it. 12 months ago, if you had been here, you'd have driveled on about Astrology. We get it. Your soul is black and you must stand with Atheists so that it appears off-white. You can't give up the Devil in your life completely so you hang out with Godless Atheists. We get it. You are very much part of the Deceived. You don't believe in scripture. You'd rather be here with us.kurious_kathy said:Actually I think atheists are just deceived people! A deceived person does not know they are being deceived. I needed the word of God to get me into the light so I wasn't being swayed with every wind of doctrine! Such as these types Pantheism, Polytheism, and Atheism beliefs.
The word of God is called the sword of the spirit for a reason! When I came to faith I found I was on the wrong side of right and it hurt. I did not like seeing how I had made myself an enemy of God by believing too many lies and trapped by my sin! I saw my sin on that cross and repented, knowing I needed a savior! It's good to have this experience, it's called conviction. And after many tears asking God to forgive me, he has restored my life. This is something only He could do!
Says who? Just because you claim Jesus is some messiah doesn't make it any more so than those who profess that Mohammad is a prophet.kurious_kathy said:Mohammad is a false prophet, Jesus is the Messiah!
By this logic I must conclude that Christianity is bunkAnd the logic is that we have been warned to test the deceiving spirits and false doctrines.
Demonstrably? If this is true then I'm sure you won't mind proving it again here? The Bible is Gods Holy Word and it's been proven many times over!
I don't see anything of significance. Could you quote something?http://www.dianawaring.com/ if you want to study a bit more on a scientific or historic point of view.
You don't get it. I am telling you that this one truth has turned my life around for the better. I never said anything like what you are perceiving. Do ya think maybe you might be in the dark? The truth sets us free, but many choose to stay blind by not believing in God! There is a truth that sets a man free, Free to be alive!Atlas said:So you have said... over and over... your whole life have been filled with one fantasy after another... and you needed another fantasy to save you from the prior ones. Yes, a great philosophical conundrum. How do we protect against being deceived. Maybe critical thinking and skepticism can help?kurious_kathy said:A deceived person does not know they are being deceived.
How could you possibly know?...I have been a deceived person in the past as well.
The kind of wind that produced Baptists, Lutheran, Catholic, Prebeteryn, Anglican, Eastern Orthodox, Methodist, Episcopalian, to name just a few.I needed the word of God to get me into the light so I wasn't being swayed with every wind of doctrine!
Yeah, marketing. The word of God is called the sword of the spirit for a reason!
But there are similar stories in other religions. This is a very common tale in the Mormon Church that I grew up in.When I came to faith I found I was on the wrong side of right and it hurt. I used to say that. I got up in church once a month in a meeting called testimony meeting and bore my testimony that Jesus Christ lives and that he died for me. So what? How does one who is decieved find the truth? Muslims believe they have the truth. Sikhs believe they have the truth. Hindus believe they have the truth. So what?kurious_kathy said:How about this... I know my redeemer lives!
