Two new Tweets from Trump

@realDonaldTrump 1h1 hour ago
The Fake News Media has never been so wrong or so dirty. Purposely incorrect stories and phony sources to meet their agenda of hate. Sad!

I guess there's no point any more correcting Trump's English usage. Purposely, while it is a real word and one Trump likes to misuse, is misused.
The relentless denigration of the media should be more concerning than it currently appears to be. Trump is repeating the big lies.

Well, as predicted, the 9th Circuit did it again - Ruled against the TRAVEL BAN at such a dangerous time in the history of our country. S.C.

I wonder who will be blamed if/when the SC upholds the lower court ruling. Insists on referring to it as a ban, likely against counsel's wishes.

This whole thing about telling us "later" about whether tapes exist is maddening.

Proposed press conference question:

"Mr. President, this is not some kind of a reality show where you need to string the audience along for suspense. You work for the people, and the people deserve an answer to a very straightforward question: Do tapes exist of your meeting with Director Comey?"

I read a quote from him earlier "I'll tell you about it over a very short period of time," Trump said in the Rose Garden on Friday. "You're going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer, don't worry."

Once again... the fact the he finds it appropriate to play games like this about serious issues is... beyond silly.

It's his usual way to avoid things, remember all the press conferences he said he would have to explain x,y and Z. They never happen.

Recently read an article by a Trump biographer that concluded that Trump puts no importance in the past or the future, but exists solely in the now.

That's how he can, without shame, say things 100% opposed to statements he made in the past, and can say things without any regard to future implications or consequences. It made a lot of sense.

Alt-0153 will give you the ™ if you're on pc Windows.
Fixed that for you. "PC" ≠ Windows. On Linux one maps a key as "Compose", then to enter ™ one presses <Compose>tm. There are many compose combinations: <Compose>'e=é; <Compose>oc=©, <Compose>SS=ẞ, <Compose>"u=ü, <Compose>/o=ø, etc. There are open-source programs that will let you the same on Windows.

Now he's whining on twitter about fake news needing to apologize to him and that AG Lynch was totally illegal in letting Hillary go.

He must be trying to distract from something...

Nonsense that meeting is what Real America(tm) is all about. That is the kind of leadership that Real American's(tm) love. That is why they voted for him overwhelmingly.

Unfortunately, yes. His daily headlines, and political epitaph: "'Savvy' marketer trashes, utterly trashes, brand USA. Enemies rejoice; cannot believe their luck." Eventual cost: trillions. Benefit: bragging rights.

The embarrassing cabinet meeting, perhaps? I have been following Donald Duck's twitter for a while. It's deranged. It seems more like a stream of consciousness deal, or the kind of thing one might post to an ex partner at 4 am while wasted. That always seems like a good idea, right?

A great article about why so many evangelical christians have become unconditional Trump supporters:

But while this provides a more nuanced understanding of why Christians voted for Trump—81 percent of them, according to exit polling—it never illuminated why they felt a connection with him as a candidate, or why many feel an even stronger kinship with him as president today. One fascinating explanation, proffered repeatedly during conversations with evangelicals over the past year, is that they identify with Trump because both he and they have been systematically targeted in the public square—oftentimes by the same adversaries. This explains why Trump, speaking last week to the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual gathering in Washington, offered an extraordinary sentiment in pledging to support the evangelical community.

“We’re under siege. You understand that,” the president said. “But we will come out bigger and better and stronger than ever.”

It was a stroke of polysemantic genius from Trump and his speechwriters. As heads nodded in agreement across the hotel ballroom, media outlets seized—as the White House knew they would—on the phrase, “We’re under siege.” After all, at that very moment, just six miles from where Trump was speaking, former FBI Director James Comey was testifying under oath in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee about his unseemly interactions with the commander in chief. These were the tensest hours of Trump’s young presidency, and here he was, acknowledging a defensive posture. But he was also expressing solidarity with an audience that can relate to feeling victimized.

“The most politically incorrect thing to do these days is talk about Christianity,” says Steve Scheffler, president of Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Iowa chapter and a prominent grassroots player in Trump’s victory there last fall. “Religion has been under siege for a long time. And I don’t want to sound like an alarmist, but if Hillary Clinton had won, religious liberty in America would basically be finished because of her appointments to the courts.”

Enter Trump.

I just keep on hearing more pathetic wailing coming from both Trump and these Christians. When people scrutinize them, point out their stupid and clueless statements they scream that they are being oppressed.

Most humorous is the fact that evangelicals apparently feel that they are being "discriminated" against when society embraces values and beliefs other than their own. It's as if they feel entitled to impose their values upon the rest society against its will.

Whoever succeeds Trump as POTUS will have a Herculean task on their hands.

...It was physically sickening to me. Deeply disturbing both that Trump gloried in it and that so many of his cabinet were willing to throw their integrity and dignity away in such an embarrassing way. UnAmerican indeed!..."

I agree it was very startling to say the least. But I wonder, based on James Comey's testimony, how many of those Cabinet officers have had to pledge loyalty to Trump? Maybe all of them.

Why would they embarrass themselves that way? Probably in order to stay employed. A Cabinet-level position is a pretty good career move. Take Scott Priutt. He's a former Oklahoma Attorney General, now he's head of the federal EPA. The history is, he can make contacts with industry people while in office and land a very lucrative job once he leaves office. I wouldn't be surprised if that's his plan. In order to do it he has to stay in office as long as he can. If he has to bend over for Trump occasionally, he probably figures that's what he has to do. Just keep his eye on the prize while he's bending. ;)

Trump and his followers are the biggest snowflakes in the country and they want all of America to be their safe space.
