How so?

Because, completely unprompted, he specifically denied it in a conversation with the director of the FBI. And because Trump is a *********** liar.

I know that isn't really proof, but in my opinion it raises the likelihood.

Comey must've had the impression that he was talking to a toddler.

Really? And your post is different from Tony's post #2338 how?

I'd say it's typical for a man who is being attacked as this president has.

No smoking gun in Comey's testimony....I never thought there would be...but it does not put Trumpy in a good light, to say the least.

You may be looking for the wrong gun.

From the MSN, not something I came up with: Criminal obstruction has a different standard, in that case Comey's testimony is not clear enough for obstruction. But they can't charge the POTUS while in office anyway.

OTOH, impeachment has a different standard, abuse of power is the crime rather than clear cut obstruction.

And on another front, there is still the collusion investigation out there. The Senators and the news media seem to have latched on to the Watergate model, surely the POTUS would know better than to allow himself to be directly involved in the Russian law breaking.

But Trump does appear to be that stupid, and he's someone who can't help himself getting involved when it means rubbing elbows with the rich and powerful Russians. Look how he stupidly shared intel with the Ruskies as part of Trump bragging.

Trump's been ambushed.

By releasing the testimony ahead of tomorrow, Trump can't block it at the last minute.
At the risk of seeming pedantic (I'm really not trying to be), the testimony will be tomorrow, and it's a much bigger deal than the statement since the committee will be able to probe the witness for details and expanded impressions of what happened. The released statement is only intended to provide a general framework for the topics about which the witness is expected to be questioned. In the case of a cooperative witness (as Comey is), it's also intended to provide the committee with details that will lead to productive lines of inquiry.

Definitely not the time to unload those popcorn futures.

Yes. Really. I know actual toddlers with more sense than Trump.

Actually it's just another ridiculous comment that furthers the discussion into the gutter.

Because it's entirely different? And I don't consult Tony before posting my own thoughts, unlike some here who consult right-wing sites to get their own opinions.
I don't think you have to consult him to think like him?

And I'm certainly not consulting right wing sites.

I gather he's addressing Christian conservatives, so something along the lines of "I am the Second Coming, and I'm being treated worse than Jesus" is not out of the question.

I think they're more likely to have him pegged as a new Cyrus, rather than a Second Coming of Christ.

Cyrus: a pagan, acting in his own selfish interest, but though whom, God still successfully executed a plan for the benefit of True Believers.

Of course, but regardless, Trump still can't put the cat back in the bag.

I guess the other news of note from yesterdays press briefing was Spicer confirming that the President's Tweets are official White House Statements. As i understand that, that should make those tweets part of official presidential records.
I think you're attributing too much authority to Spicer. When he's cast into the outer darkness his "opinions" will go with him. Ideally someone should goad Trump into confirming it.
