If he's a shill account then the login will merely be abandoned by then, under the hope everyone will have forgotten about it by then.
I do wonder about that. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he really is a Believer, but the more evidence that is presented, the harder that becomes.

His faith in Mills certainly seems more religious than evidence-based. If he is a true believer and not a shill account then he has invested a good deal of his intellectual capital in claiming to have verified the claims in Mills's book to the best of his ability. It's typical conspiratorial thinking. He thinks he's in on a big secret that the masses of Sheeple can't see.

While I certainly think it's possible he is a shill account, I haven't really seen anything in his posts but necessarily proves it. You have to keep in mind, the good shills are going to do their best to look like the average tinfoil hatter, because those are the people they're targeting.

Wherever are you getting those ideas. The photovoltaic application is going to be later, since there are complications. But they are still making progress on that front. And it's not BLP doing it ; the company that has made concentrator photovoltaic cells commercially is still doing the work. Lots has to be customized for BLPs very unique application. Please note that cPV cells have always operated singly and in isolation, as squares or rectangles. In the geodesic model they will be triangular cells that are joined together with electrical and cooling connections. This is not a trivial problem especially given the massive heat involved.

In the meantime the dome will be closed, and (if I understand Mills' earlier plan correctly) it will have to be enclosed in a larger, sealed vessel which will contain pressurized argon and small amounts of hydrogen gas. There is still a lot of work to do just to get the SunCell working as a heater.
What complete balderdash. "Just to get the SunCell working as a heater"? None of the Millites posting on this forum have ever explained why Mills has chosen to use PV cells rather than the heat. It's pure drivel, and on its own, independent of all the inconsistent pseudoscience , proves that this is a pure scam.

"Proves". Your threshold of proof is exceptionally low. Skepticism should run both ways.

Why PV cells? Let me help. It was discovered early on that the detonation of a hydrous metal by a low voltage, high current electrical pulse yielded energy that was overwhelmingly photonic, rather than kinetic. An explosion of high energy UV and soft X-ray light. If it were somehow possible to have PVs that 1) could harvest such high energy light, and 2) somehow stayed clear of vapour deposit, then no dome would have been necessary.

But alas, the dome had to be introduced. It meant the high energy light would be down converted, greatly reducing the efficiency of light energy harvesting, since so much of blackbody radiation is infrared heat.

But the main fact remains: tremendous energy is released with the SunCell. How to harvest that energy is a matter of practicality for the particular application, and there will be many applications. PVs are a technology that has evolved considerably over the years and represents an elegant, relatively compact solution. But it is also expensive (for concentrated PV cells) and energy wasteful.
Tradeoffs all around. That's life.

I know a nuclear engineer with quite a bit of experience designing nuclear reactors. I'm pretty sure she, being competent and intelligent, unlike he knuckle-draggers working for Mills, could come up with a more efficient way of harvesting the energy Mills is trying to get from his latest debacle.

Of course, if Mills himself wasn't a rank moron, he'd have, like the team on the Manhattan project, focused on stabilizing the reaction before trying to work out applications. It's amazing he keeps making promises of imminent product devices when he STILL doesn't have the reaction stabilized and controllable. Talk about putting the cart before the horse!

I should see if my friend is interested in working in New Jersey. Then again, if Mills were capable of hiring competent people he might have done so at some point in the last three decades.

The new piece in the puzzle of understanding the cosmos would be the most important part of the story here. If it were true, humanity's brightest would be expanding on the concept and developing the applications, and not in the manner of a clown act.

Thanks to you I had a hearty laugh, so much I had tears too.

markie - where are you getting all this additional information from, it doesn't seem to be on their website?

All of this would be sensible if it were not for the inconvenient fact that having converted all the UV and X-ray energy into heating "the dome", Mills idiotic design then tries to harvest the energy by putting PV cells round the glowing "dome" while struggling desperately to get rid of the "waste" heat which offers many times more power than he can ever get with his moronic design.

But the main fact remains: tremendous energy is released with the SunCell. How to harvest that energy is a matter of practicality for the particular application, and there will be many applications.
You have a funny definition of the word 'fact'. As for practicality, if you think doing it this way (throwing away the major portion of the energy as waste heat) is a practical solution then you should think again.

PVs are a technology that has evolved considerably over the years and represents an elegant, relatively compact solution. But it is also expensive (for concentrated PV cells) and energy wasteful.

Mills's utterly stupid solution is about as elegant as a hippopotamus in high heels dancing the can-can. What it provides is not an engineering trade-off but handy excuse for failure. As I said, on its own it proves that this is a scam.

So, can you explain in more detail how Mills cannot use a normal steam engine design because all the energy comes free as light, but not use a normal photocollection system because there is too much heat?

Because to me these two statements kinda contradict each other.

Photons are only kinetic.

Wait, wouldn't a "PV" "dome still be "necessary" to collect them there photons?

But alas, the dome had to be introduced. It meant the high energy light would be down converted, greatly reducing the efficiency of light energy harvesting, since so much of blackbody radiation is infrared heat.

So harvest the freak'n heat instead. The limitations of the system are what they built into it.

Ah so wasting two thrids of the energy produced is now "an elegant, relatively compact solution." Do you get dizzy from all the spinning?

That's not a 'tradeoff', that's just crap ass design. By your own assertions they deliberately reduce the "efficiency of light energy harvesting" and then still just stick with "light energy harvesting". Trade off means you give something up as well to accommodate the situation like, I don't know, say, "light energy harvesting".

He* sure seems to have a great deal of inside information, doesn't he*?

*Assuming Markie is a he, of course.

If it it's a shill account then I can see a few motives for the posts that look like insider information.

1. The goal is to solicit criticism they can quote as "proof" the Mills critics don't understand what he's doing.

2. Floating possible excuses to a critical crowd to refine the latest round of claims. Some of the timing of their releases suggests this may be the most likely explanation.

3. To keep potential critics busy on things Mills isn't actually claiming.

This of course assumes the whole thing is a deliberate con, and not a legitimate, yet systemically incompetent, effort to monetize the Mills theories.

I'm no designer, and certainly not an inventor; however, this occurred to me:
HEAT > BOILER > STEAM > TURBINE > ELECTRICITY
Maybe I'm being too simplistic.

No, you're not, and it's been pointed out numerous times in this thread. But for some reason, that defies all reason, they seem stuck on the idea of harvesting energy via solar cells and letting the heat go to waste. It's silly on a quantum scale.

The pro-Brilliant Light arguments as to the problems extracting the energy seem so bizarre to me I must confirm my understanding from high school physics: whatever massive energy is released as photons by the magical formation of hydrinos will, in the absence of photovoltaic cells, be absorbed by the reaction vessel and completely converted to heat. The heat should be enormous and using the device as a simple boiler would not result in any loss of energy. The only significant possible loss would be if most of the photons were so high energy that they could penetrate the walls of the reaction vessel: I.e. X-rays or gamma rays, in which case all the experimenters should be dead. If the device produces massive amounts of energy it must produce massive amounts of heat = steam = electricity.

All the arguments about the problems in harvesting all that energy are crap. Nuclear reactors produce electricity by boiling water. This should too, if it were real.

FTFY! :)

Remember that is just the latest excuse, he has already had one generator design fail because they were let down waiting for a heat exchanger*. One does have to suspect that he went this time with the PV etc. because it sounds more sciencey and he can throw more "it's quantum all the way down" pseudo-explanations at his investors.

*Given the claim of how much energy is produced by this reaction that is of course ludicrous as you could simply sit a kettle on it and boil water and it would be the cheapest water heater on the market!
