Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator

I am reminded of the "time crystals", that were recently empirically founded...

...and described in detail, which do not violate any of the currently understood laws of physics, and whose discoverers have not been taking money from gullible investors for over two decades while repeatedly failing to produce a commercial device whose development has been continually claimed to require only another year. Hard to see the similarity, really.

I'm not sure if this page has been linked previously, but worth mentioning even if it has:
http://everything.explained.today/Brilliant_Light_Power/

A very thorough summary of Mills' shenanigans over the years, and the reaction of real scientists to his claims. Plenty of references too.
I was particularly taken by the comments of Prof. Robert L. Park, emeritus professor at U of Maryland, in 2008:

BlackLight Power (BLP), founded 17 years ago as HydroCatalysis, announced last week that the company had successfully tested a prototype power system that would generate 50 KW of thermal power. BLP anticipates delivery of the new power system in 12 to 18 months. The BLP process,[33] discovered by Randy Mills, is said to coax hydrogen atoms into a "state below the ground state", called the "hydrino." There is no independent scientific confirmation of the hydrino, and BLP has a patent problem. So they have nothing to sell but bull ****. The company is therefore dependent on investors with deep pockets and shallow brains.

Naughty word edited by me :)

Exactly so. It's sure fascinating to watch.

They blow a filament. Markie is mocking that term, but it is precisely what they are doing. Someone used the expression "carnival" level puffery, yes. Amazing.

A con man has to act cool and collected while saying outrageous things. But under that cool exterior what you have is a predator who has no scruples about lying to dupe people out of money.

'Mocking' the term? No, merely saying that 'filament' it is an inappropriate and misleading term for a bar of tungsten that was near 1cm thick. Also, it wasn't just the electrodes that would be destroyed. The cylindrical molybdenum (or it may have been titanium) sleeve that contained the reaction would be destroyed as well. It looked a bit under 1cm thick.

It seems by your mere 'shorting' theroy that pure silver injected between the electrodes would produce this kind of high power carnage. It doesn't. Hydrogen, and a wee bit of oxygen, is required, as consistent with hydrino production theory.

Anyway, destroying electrodes is not a good thing. A better ignition system and using two molten silver streams for electrodes has solved that problem.

You haven't seen the actual pictures (supplied by BE) which do not show the tungsten filament being "destroyed"? They were posted earlier in the thread.

Did you or anyone notice that in the second image, the "vaporized" electrodes, while not in as good condition or as well-lit as "before," are very much still there?

That's not what's pictured in the photos that were posted. You're discussing something completely different than what the thread's OP posted about. Please try to focus. We're happy to discuss a different part of the Mills generator with you but if you can't tell an electrode from a hunk of tungsten, we're going to spend a lot of time correcting you on the basic construction fo the device.

If you're running a huge current from those capacitors through a metal rod, you don't need magical physics defying hydrogen to make the rod burn up. The oxygen in the atmosphere would be enough.
Or do incandescent bulbs with broken glass also produce hydrinos when they burn up?

What has changed? What new idea or device has come into being that allows you to think he "has finally hit on a winner". And what about that new thing differentiates it from the previous decades of ideas or devices?

ETA: Darat asked much the same.

Problems with previous methods for generating power included low power, low power density, low energy gain, problematic catalyst regeneration, oxidation of electrodes, low run times, maintenance issues, conversion to electricity problems and high cost risk to market.

The SunCell results of explosive, run-away power in the essential hydrino reaction has changed the game. What remains to be resolved are issues concerned with controlling the reaction via hydrogen, oxide, silver, and ignition parameters. And of course there are engineering and materials issues with the high heat.

Producing a commercial device is very different that having working prototypes. BLP has had the later, many times. But even small issues that can't be resolved in the prototype stage is death to developing and bringing that product to market.

Do you know how nuclear reactors work?

The nuclear reaction is used to generate heat, which in turn is used to convert water to steam. That steam is used to drive turbines. Those turbines generate electricity.

Assuming the science is right, Mills is designing a device that will produce LESS electricity than if he were using the core as a heat source in a steam turbine.

There are SO MANY industrial uses for a compact device that can supposedly generate 3,000 degrees C of heat and yet Mills is exploring NONE of them. He's choosing the single most idiotic way imaginable to get electricity out of what he claims to have built. If he's a con man, it's a brilliant blend of buzzwords to bilk the gullible. If he's sincere about generating real technology, then he's dangerously incompetent to the point where he should step down and let people with a clue run things in his place.

Mills will NEVER produce a commercial power generator based upon Hydrino generation. Never. He has nearly 30 years of consistent failure proving this to be the case.

After nearly 30 years of consistent failure in this regard, at what point do you wash your hands of them?

How many chances do you intend to give serial losers?

I do recall some pictures posted here a while back, but they looked rather difficult to interpret. Why not watch a video instead?

Well when Mills demonstrated the SunCell operation to engineers in Boston some months ago, they couldn't explain the source of power densities that would lead to the destruction observed.

What's the scale of the video we're seeing here?

How thick are those pieces? Even if we knew the scale we only see two out of three dimensions.

Keep in mind, this thread has already covered the energies needed to get the before and after results even IF they were tungsten bars of the dimensions you're claiming. It's not nearly as impressive an accomplishment as the Mills supporters are claiming.

Circus tricks and obfuscation. If Mills really had a working prototype he wouldn't need to put on a light show and rely on some ad hoc measurements by engineers who either didn't know what to look for, or knew exactly what not to look for, depending on how close they are to Mills.

He could just show the hydrinos his machine produces and definitively prove his theories right.

As far as "the math works" goes, and someone may have pointed this out already, even if it does, it by no means constitutes any reality. There are for jnstance several competing theories of the origin of the universe as we now know it all of which have math to back them up. The fact that some are mutually exclusive illustrates that "the math works" may not mean it describes our reality.

And yet, none of those issues stopped him from making exactly the same "6 to 18 months" claims we're currently seeing, or from signing contracts to deliver the claimed devices.

And oh, look, now we have a whole new batch of excuses to use when the SunCell fails to deliver as well.

Science is about proposing a hypothesis, determining a test or prediction that will possibly falsify the hypothesis, and then conducting some sort of experiment to determine if the test or prediction pans out.

So:

Hypothesis: Mills and BLP are scammers, currently working the latest in a long line of scams.

Prediction 1: The current version of the scam will, as usual, not produce a working commercial product within 18 months.

Prediction 2: The current version of the scam will, as usual, never produce a working commercial product.

Prediction 3: The excuses for the failures predicted in 1 and 2 will be based on "issues concerned with controlling the reaction via hydrogen, oxide, silver, and ignition parameters. And of course there are engineering and materials issues with the high heat".

Prediction 4: Despite all of the above predictions coming true, the current supporters of Mills and BLP will find some excuse to continue supporting him.

So that's my theory, the theory that is mine. It's a bit of a sucker bet though, as it's really noting more than "predicting the past", in that this is exactly what has happened several times before, but what are you gonna do? Scammers gotta scam.
