Inauguration LIVE

Just like right wingers and their beer/pot parties at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge?

I was talking about right wingers of the liberal variety in this case. I'm not particularly interested in your diversion, though feel free to actually address anything I said.

I can't decide whether or not I like Kellyanne Conway's outfit. It's more like a costume, but I think that's kind of cool. Very geeky. I'm into geeky.

The hat just looked silly though.

He spent a similar amount of time bashing several Republicans who now all kow tow to him and sing his praises. The hypocrisy of politicians, never missing from the enterprise, has reached new lows in this round.

I don't buy that either. Trump never went after the Republican candidates the way he went after Hillary. At least he never called them criminals, said they shouldn't be allowed to run or threatened to have them put in prison. The only one I thought he hit under the belt, went after him in a way too personal way, was Ted Cruz. When he implied Cruz's father might have been involved in the Kennedy assassination. That was sick.

I also don't agree the Republican candidates now kowtow to Trump and sing his praises. Most seem to support him as their Party's candidate, that's about it. Kasich, Cruz and Rubio certainly don't go overboard supporting him and neither does Paul Ryan. Carson? He's another amateur like Trump and he kissed and made up with Trump way back.

'And now, the end is near*
And so I face the final curtain.'

Why would he choose a song that starts like that?
Hidden message from the Pres?

My guess is that it was a sop to the old line conservative Reagan worshippers. It was widely bandied about at the end of the Reagan era and was one of Ronnie's favorite tunes, IIRC.

What is Trump's obsession with the Obamas? Even the cake at the inauguration was plagiarized.

It seems clear that, under different circumstance, Trump would have been a cannibal:

we have seen him time and again take over the stuff a fallen business superstar had to sell: that's how he ended up with his plane, for example.

I think he needs such gestures to assure himself that those how have belittled him (see the roast by Obama) are now worth less than him.

It also makes the whole escort-bed-golden shower episode so plausible...

I have a suspicion the problem with Trump is probably his staff. Not so much the top people but mid-level on down. Need a cake for the inauguration? Okay. What kind of a cake do you have at an inauguration; dunno lemme Google it. Hey here we go. Cool!

When his lawyer appeared at his press conference and no one thought to adjust the mike so you see her face...amateurs.

Reminds me of a profile I read about a Internet website maven. He was bragging he had "UCLA grads working for me, for ten bucks an hour!" That sounds like Trump. Who would want to work on his staff? Remember the photos of his "campaign headquarters" in Manhattan. Unfurnished with wires hanging down from the ceiling.

I said "ruling elite", did you stumble over the first word?

No, actually, I found it just fine. It's you, apparently, who are struggling with that word's meaning.

See, this is why making sure you're using the proper terms is important. You just look like a fool when you don't, and that's why no one ever takes you seriously.

Not only that, but it was largely just a prop.

MacIsaac said the attention caught her by surprise partly because, per the order, the Trump cake was intended to be more of a prop: All but a three-inch slice at the bottom was inedible.

“It’s just a Stryofoam cake. It’s not for eating,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting it to be seen on TV.”

Something came out of the Trump administration that people might think looks good, but most of it was stolen from the Obama administration, presented without credit, and it's just a useless prop to make Trump look good anyway.
It seems like there may be some sort of metaphor in there somewhere. :D

Wasn't expecting to see it on TV? Then you're stupid and should be fired.

The mainstream news is having a conniption fit because the White House Press Secretary said Trump's inauguration had the largest crowd in history. It's only a matter of time before POTUS shatters Kim Jong-Il's 38-under par record.
