I disagree there is at least one purpose I see : they lower the complaint of the neighbors of gun club range. Suppressor can lower the dB enough that good noise isolation can handle the rest.

I would still advise having hearing protection while training though, I learned that the quick way.

Exactly, right on all counts. They also are more pleasant to shoot. The UK has some of the most onerous gun laws of anywhere, yet they don't regulate suppressors. That ought to be a clue that they are essentially harmless.

All that is irrelevant.
The only question is: what is the possible legitimate civilian purpose of a silencer?
I can think of none.

Hunting. I used to use a suppressor on my FAC rated air rifle when out shooting rabbits and wood pigeon. It had a supersonic pellet and the suppressor made it almost completely silent.

I never said anything to the contrary, after all we DO have gunfire crime even in EU. I was simply answering to your claim that suppressor did not change the detection ability of gunfire detector. They do.

First, he claimed it did not. You corrected him.
Then, for some reason, the goal post was moved.

I'll agree that they do slightly. Apparently, the detectors can still detect the supersonic zing of a bullet and that really is the most effective part of the system. They are not confused as is human hearing.

I sympathize with your hearing loss. I have loss too, mostly from Jet Engine noise even tho' I religiously wore hearing protection. I also have some loss from firearms blasts, as well. Mostly from hunting as a youngster when no hearing protection was worn....

Stop the deception. Nothing was said about gunshot detection systems when you were participating and neither you or I brought it up. While detection with automated systems is reduced it is not to zero. Goal post have not been moved at all. That's simply what you think is a talking point.

Your opinion in any discussion of firearms issues is not credible. You have never seen a anti-firearms measure you didn't like just like the Brady Bunch.

I'd like to see martial arts controlled too. You know mental exams for those who study or have martial arts skills and also have an obsessive fear of firearms. I think those people are a danger to society... One never knows when they might go off half cocked and harm someone.

I'd like to know the secret to that. I have a suppressed air rifle too, but I have to use a pellet weight that reduces the velocity to below about 1000 fps to eliminate the supersonic zing.

Note: Suppressed air rifles are not regulated in the US.

What's with Trump taking his own security team to the White House?
Does he not trust the Secret Service? its personnel are the best of the best, and have a longstanding reputation for professional excellence. Yet, suddenly, they're not good enough?
Does he think his private goons will offer better protection?
Is it vanity? Part of 'don't trust the Feds' and 'draining the swamp'?

Well I was exaggerating a little bit with half deaf, it is more that some frequency are cut off far lower and far higher than they should, apparently a malformation. That makes it a little awkward discussing with people I keep asking them to repeat... Sometimes twice... But I can still "suffer" with shooting or loud noises. I sympathize with your hear loss though, I hope you got comp.

No one is advocating for the control of marksmanship. Let's not introduce such red-herrings. It's not about skill sets, but about weapons and weapon accessories.

He doesn't trust the Secret Service because they are not paid by him. They could, for example, tell him that it is not okay to grab a pussy. While a person on Trump's payroll, for example is more pliable and can be kept quiet.
Trump is building a regime and his own personal guard like many dictators do.

Yes, I did. I have hearing aids provided by the VA at very little cost. They are state of the art and expensive at $ 5,000 per pair. Excellent testing to provide exactly what I need. My loss is frequency specific too. Mostly high pitch ranges. I am not deaf by any means, but I do have trouble with female voices and other higher pitch sounds without the aids. Testing did reveal enough problem in the gunshot frequencies that the tester asked questions about that too. They do make a huge difference in quality of life...

Yes, you are advocating for the control of marksmanship by opposing the deregulation of suppressors. They add immensely to the ability to shoot more accurately.

A person with martial arts skills is a weapon. They can cause grievous harm and accessories can exacerbate that harm.

That should be regulated with mental health checks and other controls to make sure they don't go off half cocked and harm someone. I would only advocate that for folks also with excessive obsessions such as with firearms. That is one of the indicators of poor mental health.

I'll be on board with regulating martial arts when there is an epidemic of mass martial arts murders. Until then, you are dismissed. Carry on.

Trump owes big money to some of the most powerful financial organizations in the world:

This is the guy who will be regulating them -- or not. Kinda makes Hillary's speaking fees look like pocket change.

Didn't he promise he was going to provide his tax returns, like other major Presidential candidates have done for decades? Well, that promise was just as empty as making Mexico pay for his "wall".

One of the great (ongoing) journalistic challenges of the next few years will be trying to determine the range and depth of Trump's entanglements and indebtedness to a host of foreign actors, especially those in Russia and tied in with his BFF Vlad.

Now that he got elected, he can make sure his audit never ends, so he won't have to release them.
