A lot of people are speculating on what sort of presidency The Donald will have and which of his "policy positions" he will actually implement or attempt to implement. As we grieve or rejoice today, what do we seriously think he will be able to accomplish? Make your predictions on the next 4 years in America. We'll resurrect the thread at the next election...

1) I predict that he will disappoint a lot of his supporters by not being the person they thought they were getting.

Bannon and other quasi-GOP outsiders will turn all their energies fighting their true enemy:

The Republican Leadership

Knowing that this election was The Last Stand of the Angry White Men, Republicans everywhere will try to lock in their seats through gerrymandering and voter suppression.
This will be assisted by a conservative Supreme Court, which will also try to decide on many pet-peeves of the Conservatives as soon as possible.

In other words: we will have 2 years in which a lot of Republicans will want a lot of things to happen, domestically, which do not benefit any American.

1. Trump is convicted of fraud (Trump University)
2. Trump is impeached and thrown out of office. Both GOP and Dems rejoice.

Kangaroo court convicts Clinton as part of a drawn out show trial. Bread and circuses for all the Trump supporters so they can feel that they are making america great again.

My prediction is similar to yours:

I predict that his core supporters will not get the person they thought they were getting, but they won't notice it. Many of the policies will continue as they were, there will be a few protectionist measures here and there, but nothing major.

Foreign policy will not take a radical shift, although he will actually demand NATO allies start doing their part in common defense, and not just piggyback on US forces as a small semi-capable auxillia. He might form friendships with various autocrats though, Duerte already offered an olive branch.

Overall it's way too early to decry him as the worst president ever. This should be readily obvious since he is still months away from taking office, but media and celebrities are already doing so.

There is actual potential for him to be a great president, truth to be told. Now that he's been elected we might as well hope for that.

After achieving being elected, Trump's next goal will be to become "The greatest President" of all times.

Then what??

Mike Pence is President? That's even worse for equal rights.

The fear from Trump is that he'll start a war, HERE. At home. He's the #1 recruitment tool for extremists. Hope everybody is prepared for a lot of **** blowing up.

Realizing that people believe what they want to hear, TragicMonkey writes a phoney baloney inspirational book about how Jesus wants you to be exactly however you currently are. This book sells like hotcakes, bringing him an enormous fortune and tremendous popularity. He runs for the presidency in 2020 and is widely favored to win. Two weeks before the election he calls a press conference, confesses it was just a prank designed to get the attention of Chris Pratt, and retires back into obscurity to live a simple life of sybaritic luxury surrounded by gorgeous pool boys and high quality animatronic dinosaurs. He never does level his warlock past 85.

The price of gasoline will double again.

After several years of utterly projections of present events into future events I no longer feel confident in my ability to understand what America wants and thinks, and Trump is a pig in a poke.

We see the future by looking through a peephole poked through the past. Trump is fresh paper, we have no idea what he will actually claim to believe and want in six weeks, much less do. There are no past event peepholes that look at today, this set of events.

When you need proof readers let us know.

Let's hope he completes his term. You're better off with a bumbling narcissist with the attention span of a toddler as POTUS, than with an anti-gay anti-woman religious fundamentalist who actually knows how to get things done.

I predict he won't build a wall, but will build another fence that will end up covering some weak spots in the existing arrangement. He will call it 'a barrier'. He will claim that Mexico paid for it, albeit indirectly, via raising of import tariffs.

That's not the only way to raise the money. We could also tax remittances to Mexico. There's a lot of money there ($24.8 billion in 2015), even a 1% tax would add up.
