The Unofficial Election 2016 Results Thread PLEASE

No matters what happens you will be disappointed.
Even if Trump wins, he is not going to adapt a White Nationalist agenda. In fact, having used them to win they will become a liability, and he will drop them like a used condom.

Paid time off to vote?!? Wow, we are allowed to request unpaid time off to vote, but as far as I know there is no requirement that it be granted if a supervisor thinks you can vote after or before work hours.

State law requires us to offer paid time off to vote if it is "impractical" to vote outside of working hours. We tend to be a little generous on the definition of "impractical" and paid time off is capped at 3 hours. Anything longer is personal time.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "poll receipt."

Because of the law, voters can request a receipt to show they were in fact voting at that time and date. It isn't offered unless you ask for it.

Only significantly more disgusting...

Nope. I did that on purpose. And I've seen it happen in the past. Basically, they call it as soon as the polls close but in Indiana, the first few precincts that come in might be from Gary, which is heavily Democratic. As the rest of the state rolls in, they know it will change.

ETA: Historically, Indiana and Kentucky had the earliest poll closings in the country, so they were announced first. However, I think Indiana has extended their voting hours in recent years, so they might not be as early as they used to be.

Still 6 pm in Indiana as far as I know. At least, that's what I read yesterday in the "voting information" articles in the locals.

I voted two weeks ago.

I consider sending a message to Muslims & Mexicans that they are here against the will of the traditional American nation to be worthwhile in and of itself.

If Trump wins, I also consider the anguish it will induce in liberals (including most of my own family) to be worth it alone too.

I applaud your state's commitment to voting, as well as your/your company's commitment and generosity.

Is he for real?

MSNBC has reported that Trump has filed suit in Nevada concerning early voting, saying that people voted after the polls closed.

Of course they did. The people were all in line before the polls closed. Refusing to let them vote because the polls weren't sufficiently staffed would be voter suppression.

Honestly, it was all reported in the media and broadcast live at the time.

Honestly I think a single "voting day" has reached a tipping point. I think early voting should become a Federal level law, with the final voting day being a Federal Holiday.
