2016 Presidential Debate III

I watched on my local Fox broadcast channel. It was on pretty much all channels.
Interestingly, while the other channels are now into post-debate analysis, Fox simply went on to normal prime-time programming. (In this case, it's new Lethal Weapon series.)

Smart move on their part, I think the world on the whole is pretty sick of this election and wants as little to do with it as possible. I know I want to throw up every time I think about it.

Ok something weird happened: As the debate finished, I was watching Hillary and Trump shaking hands in the background while the commentators were talking, when I noticed that the video window had a pause button. So I hit it, and the video was paused. I hit play and the video was resumed exactly where I left it (Which can't, by definition, happen in a live feed)

This was the same live debate I had been watching. Like I said, the candidates were just shaking the hands of the audience members. So what the hell???

This was at cnn.com

Now Iran is takin Iraq. And Trump never answered the question.

Well, there is increased potential for good relations with their shared Shi'ite faith.

But yeah, he never answered the question, demonstrated ignorance on some basic fundamentals of the conflict on numerous points (Iran wants ISIS to succeed?), and apparently thinks Hillary invaded Iraq to start the whole mess in motion anyways.

The debate was yesterday, you were watching a recording.

It's not like live TV if you're watching it on the web. Same thing can be done with a DVR.

Our TV has the exact same feature, even on a "live feed", the system is basically recording as you're watching, and when you unpause it, it just picks up where you left off, now a few seconds (or how ever long you paused it) delayed. You can fast forward and catch up if you like, but you can't over come the present.

The video is encoded and saved while streaming. Most live streams can be paused for this reason. If you pause too long, it's possible not to be able to pick up again if the video is being saved into a buffer that only holds a certain number of minutes before deleting the oldest data as the stream continues..

Donald's refusal to say that he accept the results of the election is the lead story on basically every mainstream news outlet.

As is his follow up comment on rejecting the American Traditions of Peaceful Transfer Of Power.
Last time somebody rejected the peaceful transfer of power was The South After the election of Lincoln in 1860. Did not turn out too good for them.
God,the party of Lincoln has come to this.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. I was really stumped by that :)

I'm sure Iran and the U.S. are working very closely with each other. For purposes of Mosul, Iran and the U.S. are military allies, as has they have been several times in the past 15 years.

Trump did say give "back" money to Iran - acknowledging that it was their money.

I don't know how that works either. Your own personal replay, but you stay caught up? HOW!!??

Damn you, mainstream media!

How was there not a single question on climate change in any debate?

Looking at a Red/Blue state map I suddenly get that much of Middle America wouldn't mind too much if the sea level rises. Coastal areas tend to be blue.

The controversies of this campaign have crowded out discussion of climate change. Hillary mentioned clean energy and a unified electrical grid.
