Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

So it looks like Hillary was wrong to compliment Donald's kids. Donnie Jr suggested that if a woman can't handle workplace harassment, she should just be a kindergarten teacher.

“If you have a guys' place you have a guys' place,” Trump Jr., the candidate’s eldest son and executive vice president at the Trump Organization, said, describing himself as a “guy’s guy.”

A host interjected that women “complain, ‘it’s harassment’ — that’s why we hate having them around. They stop us from doing what we want to do.”

“I’m of that mindset — and I’ll get into trouble, I’m sure I’ll get myself in trouble one of these days,” Trump began, “if you can’t handle some of the basic stuff that’s become a problem in the workforce today, then you don’t belong in the workforce. Like, you should go maybe teach kindergarten. I think it’s a respectable position.

“You can’t be negotiating billion-dollar deals if you can’t handle, like, you know,” Trump said, without elaborating. “But listen — there’s a place where you have to draw the line — but today the stuff you get in trouble for …”

What do I love about this?

Trump either has to sue, guaranteeing that all the gory details will come out in court, or back down. And we all know how much he loves backing down. :D

He'll just posture and preen and delay and delay. His adorers will say he's fighting the good fight, he'll shout about running the Times out of business and nothing will come of it.

No, that is their opening shot. Their defense will be much more detailed, but only once Mr. Trump files suit. This was just a shot across the bow to say: really, you think we would bow to that amateur hour BS?

Yep. They're the Times. Donnie's lawyers get their letter published because it's news. They full well knew (hell, 'cuz they'd publish it themselves, duh) that the response would get coverage, so rather than the usual lawyer-letter response... THEY WROTE AND EDITORIAL that's going to get more readers than any Op-Ed they could write.

Trump and his lawyers (and the ambulance chaser helping Melanija) shoot themselves in the foot, but they don't care... it's Donnie's foot and Donnie's money.

Reince knows that Donald is going to lose and take down a bunch of Republicans with him.

For all Mr. Priebus’s public expressions of loyalty, he has been deeply shaken by revelations about Mr. Trump and the rifts within the party, seeing years of Republican organizational work potentially being undone, according to multiple people who described private conversations with Mr. Priebus on the condition of anonymity. He has said he feels adrift, fearing that Mr. Trump is headed for disaster, and told one longtime associate that he was having sleepless nights. Mr. Priebus did not respond to requests for comment.

Looks like low life piece of trash Donald Trump lied about giving money to 9/11 charities.

I would be shocked by this if not for earlier reporting about Trump's (lack of) charitable giving. It's not so much the fact that he didn't give, but that he promised to, and then didn't, or claimed he had when he hadn't.

So Donald is going to pick a fight with a Mexican with a lot more money than him.

Donald Trump will claim Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim was part of a cabal dredging up allegations the Republican nominee touched women inappropriately, the Wall Street Journal reported.

According to the WSJ report, which cited an unnamed Trump adviser, Trump planned to claim that Slim, a New York Times shareholder and Clinton Foundation donor, was trying to boost Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign by damaging Trump's. The adviser said Trump could launch the attack as early as Friday, the report said.

A spokesman for Slim denied that the media mogul had interfered in the U.S. election, while New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. said Slim had never sought to influence the newspaper's coverage, the WSJ reported.

A Clinton campaign press secretary called Trump's claim a "deranged right-wing conspiracy theory," the report said.

The Slim family owned around 17 percent of The New York Times Co. Class-A shares as of March, although the Sulzberger family controls the company, the report noted.

It's good for a headline today but he's got plausible deniability because they didn't review all the years of records. Only if someone really corners him or his spokeswenches will they get the full story. Problems I see in getting that:

> Eric Jr's famous dodge about daddy putting millions in his charity. They just stonewalled it, never actually proved that he made the donations and the press moved on to another shocker/scandal.
> He can claim, "oh, not those charities but I give a lot of money in private and believe me it's a lot of money and it's private and I gave so much money to 9/11 charities, so much, believe me it was yuge".
> His mouthpieces will change the subject every time to "well, Bill Clinton banged an intern, raped a nurse, and picked his nose" and refuse to answer anything.

With Ferret Top (rhymes with Carrot Top, get it) not even willing to sit for interviews with Sean the huggie blankie and pacifier Hannity, who's going to corner him sufficiently to get a real answer.

My prediction is an amalgamation of the above.... bluster and denial.

They can deny it but I wouldn't call it "plausible" deniability. He could clear it up by releasing his tax returns but of course he won't do that. If there was a donation, it didn't go through his foundation:

The Daily News also reviewed every Form 990, which provides financial information for nonprofit companies or charities, for the Donald J. Trump Foundation from 2001 through 2014. There are no donations to the Twin Towers Fund or the NYC Public-Private Initiative listed.

The only Sept. 11th donation in those documents was a $1,000 donation in 2006 to the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Fund, a group founded by Tom Cruise that used scientifically questionable methods approved by Scientology to help rescue workers.

The only recorded major donation to 9/11 causes that Trump has made was $100,000 from his foundation — which has been bankrolled by others without any money from Trump for years — to the 9/11 Museum in April 2016, as he sought to generate headlines after Ted Cruz attacked him for his "New York values" during the primary election.

After earlier reports suggested that the Trump Foundation hadn't given anything to any Sept. 11th charity, his campaign implied he'd made donations to the American Red Cross after the attacks.

There is no evidence that the Trump Foundation did so, and the only way for Trump to prove he did so would be to release his tax returns — something he's stubbornly refused to do throughout his presidential run.

So yeah, maybe he made a direct donation, bypassing his foundation. But I doubt it. And I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt to a candidate for president who won't release his tax returns like every other major party candidate has for 40 years.

How does one grope an octopus?

He groped like an octopus. I assume that means his hands were everywhere so fast it seemed as if he had 8 hands and, I guess, 40 fingers. Although octopii have a LOT more suckers than 5 on each of their "hands" but at least the sucker part is consistent in the analogy. :)

Donald Trump Jr.
... “if you can’t handle some of the basic stuff that’s become a problem in the workforce today, then you don’t belong in the workforce. Like, you should go maybe teach kindergarten. I think it’s a respectable position.

As if kindergarten teachers aren't in the workforce. What an idiotic thing to say. The men in the family sure love to gratuitously offend people. They wouldn't last until snack time in any kindergarten. It's harder work than they can imagine.

And Daddy Trump would probably be looking for the one(s) he would be dating in 15 years. Also hitting on their moms.

I don't see what the big deal is. She couldn't hear him say nasty things about her. I'm sure the next "scandal" is going to be that he made obscene gestures to a blind guy.

For Nietzsche morality should be judged not on how your actions affect others but how they affect the aesthetics of you the actor. Your comments give me an appreciation of the value of such a position.

Trump's "Locker Room" excuse is pretty much the worst he could have said: men everywhere blame Trump for putting them in the doghouse with their spouses and now have to swear that it's just the orange octopus who thinks being a Man means groping women if they want, instead of making women want to grope you ...

To be fair, there is no good excuse and the deplorables seem to buy it.

If Donald wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, what would he have done with his life? Maybe he could have been a good used car salesman? Or perhaps just a straight conman. I mean he is already a conman, but perhaps he would have been one without the facade of legitimacy if he wasn't born with money.

This election definitively proves the system is broken. We should immediately repeal the 19th Amendment.
