The NYT's response to Donald's lawyer's demand for a retraction.

So the NYT defence is that Trump has no reputation worth protecting?

That is bold.

No, that is their opening shot. Their defense will be much more detailed, but only once Mr. Trump files suit. This was just a shot across the bow to say: really, you think we would bow to that amateur hour BS?

Also that publishing the accusations are a public service.

This isn't the UK. Donald has zero chance of winning a libel suit. He would basically have to prove that the NYT knew that the accusations were false.

My favorite part is where they say that if Trump doesn't agree that what they did falls under their first amendment rights, they are happy to have a court straighten him out.

Really funny comment by Hillary Clinton

"It makes you want to turn off the news. It makes you want to unplug the internet or just look at cat GIFs. Believe me, I get it. In the last few weeks, I've watched a lot of cats do a lot of weird and interesting things. But we have a job to do and it'll be good for people and for cats."

That is awesome!

They would love to subonea witnesses and the Apprentice tapes that haven't been released

Marital rape is a tough one.

1) Any time you have only a "he said/she said" case, it is extremely difficult to prove the alleged victim's case beyond a reasonable doubt. As such, prosecutors usually need something beyond the victim's account to tip the scale.

2) Married couples have been known to "spice things up" with role playing. In that context, one scenario is rape, or at least not paying attention to the spouse's protestations. Without a "safe word", it's not inconceivable for a husband to defend himself by claiming he thought it was a game, especially if it was one they had played before.

Not defending spousal rape at all - just explaining why successful prosecutions are probably very rare.

Great, now we'll be watching the Republicans drum up the next attack on Hillary: Did she pronounce it "gif" or "jif"?!?

I'm sure that if she was truly an evil demon like the right-wing claims, she would pronounce it like the peanut butter. Only true, upstanding citizens pronounce it with a hard G, dammit!
