Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

I love the false equivocation of consensual sex with sexual assault but it's not a defense of Donald.

Trumped bragged about assaults and was oblivious to the fact they were assaults.

Clinton was accused of groping, coming on to women who weren't necessarily willing and in one case a date-rape/rape depending on your POV. He never admitted to assaultive behavior and political motivations for some of the accusations could not be ruled out. Broderick's accusations remain troubling.

Different but equally problematic.

But, the attempt to smear Hillary for comments supporting her husband, considering he was most certainly lying to her and she would have wanted to believe him, just doesn't carry the same weight as Trump would no doubt like it to.

Any bets that there is even worse to come? It'd seem good politics to keep ramping it up and not to reveal the worst of it a month before the election..

Clinton is a serial seducer but he doesn't do it by backing women against a wall and forcing his hand up their skirts. He's a charmer, not a thug. There's no equivalence.

That ignores a couple accusations like groping Kathleen Wiley and Broderick's rape that may not have been politically motivated.

You see this is why I dislike dynasties in politics, it brings too much baggage in with it and we wind up acting like we're considering electing people again when we're talking about electing their relatives.

Bill Clinton isn't running so even if you could make a 1:1 comparison between him and Trump, which you can't but whatever, it wouldn't matter.

Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio says that he will be voting for Mike Pence for president???

How does that work given that Pence is running for Vice President? Does that still count as a vote for the Trump/Pence ticket?

I can only think of one way.

A lot of doubt has been raised about those cases.

What's amusing about all of the desperate shrieks "Bill Clinton is a rapist" is that the alt-right has been notorious for claiming there are way too many false rape accusations in our society, yet many of them are willing to accept this one on faith.

Yet again... the Bill Clinton analogy has nothing to do with whether he is running right now. He' a case study precedent of someone who got elected into office... and committed such vulgarities while there. Yet the argument as it is right now is that we shouldnt elect someone who speaks of women this way. Thats the double standard.

It doesnt make what Trump said back then right. It doesn't make what he said "smart". I refuse to defend what je he said because I too find it offensive. At the end of the day however you are basically arguing that such behavior is unbecoming for a prospective future POTUS..... after having already elected one.

Hillary Clinton is not responsible for what Bill Clinton did during his time in office. But i would not be surprised if her staying with Bill was for her future political prospects

Some of us are more concerned about doing what's best for our country then making sure both sides have equal tick marks on their score cards.

Hypocrisy in politics can be an issue to be sure, but it's not the end all be all factor.

I'd rather back a hypocrite than a sexual assaulter.

In both the Willey case and the Broaddrick case, there is quite a bit of contemporaneous corroborating evidence. Broaddrick apparently told five friends about the rape immediately afterwards, and she had the wounds to show that she had been attacked. Furthermore, Bill Clinton himself has never denied the attack happened. The only official denial that has ever been made is through his lawyer.
