I know many teenagers of Latin American descent who would vote against Trump - if they are U.S. citizens at least 18 years old.

It never occurs to me to question their legal status, but some probably are undocumented.

If Trump comes out in favor of the Dream Act he might gain a few votes, and possibly put a dent in pinata sales.

After Trump wins, he may knock a hole in that position of theirs.
He really wouldn't. They're already making mock of the fact that Trump is a serious contender. If he wins they'll make even more. And they're not alone. The US political environment may have numbed you to the fact that Trump is a freak. From out here people are watching the process in horrified fascination.

In a country where Sen Inhofe chairs a science committee, the "normal" is far from what it is for outsiders. The British normal is widely regarded as a tad outré but it's mainstream compared to yours.

Was at the flea market here, in Vegas last week. The Trump pinatas, were selling like churros!

Not surprising, but DAMN my home State!

You'll be one of 4 million Texans who won't have any representation in the Electoral College, together with 5 million Californians who will have voted for Trump. At least 50 million voters won't be represented, including 7 or 8 million of Johnson supporters who will have none.

One day there will be democracy in the USA and the 38 electors of Texas will be distributed among all presidential candidates by the D'Hont system or any other system that distribute them proportionally to the votes they get. And all those presidential candidates will be selected in one primary for all parties the same date.

Not in our lifetime, I regret to say.

I want one! Whatever happens with the election.

The funny thing was, there was an HRC version too. They were identical except for the head.:D
I'll takes some pictures, if I make it back before the election.

Yeah, I live in Nevada for now, so...

An encouraging and discouraging post. Almost certainly accurate.

There is no way that the Republicans will allow the POTUS election to be a straight, popular vote. Most Americans are liberal.

PartSkeptic is not American.

I am having a hard time fully understanding the comparison to the Falklands so I will just ask you. Which side do you imagine will be the first to use thermonuclear weapons?

Usually things escalate to trigger-finger time where the launches are almost simultaneous.

Sides? Probably Russia and the US first, and the UK and France feeling forced to support the US. Israel will nuke Iran and Syria.

North Korea will nuke South Korea. The US will then nuke North Korea forcing China into taking sides.

India and Pakistan will have a go at each other for final dominance in a mad end-of-world scenario.

My opinion. Maybe some experts out there have a different scenario.

If Trump is president he will make peace with Putin and China, despite being tough on trade.

The US and Russia have about 7,000 missiles. The rest have less than about 300 each.

<snip>

Is Trump running against himself or does he have an opponent who will help him win?

It's the former. His combative cock-of-the-walk nature has done him in. As the old adage goes, never pick a fight with someone who buys printers ink by the barrel.

The media were totally to blame for his ascent and then he made the mistake of rubbing their noses in their part in it and thinking he could still manipulate them even while mocking them.

They are currently, and will continue to do so, releasing one tidbit a day. And they apparently have hundreds of them. His only positively spun news is from Fox and the alt-right. He won't take interviews with anyone who's not with a Fox affiliate. He hasn't had a press conference in a month. And more important, with him avoiding the media he's also not spending any money on advertising.... because they don't have it. He's hitherto relied on media to give him a free hand to spew his promos. When the headline on any network but Fox starts with "Trump...." the rest of the headline has not been something positive.

Trump's camp is about to learn about the constant drip drip drip of negative news that Hillary's faced for over a decade. X number of people are going to buy into it, particularly when the sources say "Newsweek, CNN, Washington Post, NY Times, etc...." How's that compare in most voters' minds to "Breitbart, Drudge, Fox, Conservative Tree House"? With another story every morning about his financial shenanigans? He's toast. And he brought it on, himself.

The GOP strategy was sound: trash the obvious next democratic presidential candidate continuously until the election.
They didn't expect Trump to cash in on their hard work. Now they just look like jerks and don't even get one of their own as candidate.

A most delicious irony, unless we get stuck with it!
