Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

I'm also in MA and if that happens, I will hunt you down and kill you with a rusty spoon.

Seriously, why would you cast a vote for a man that you think is worse than the alternatives? I can understand, say, a Green party voter choosing Hillary, even though he thinks Stein is better. But if you think that Trump will lose and that Trump is the worse candidate, why vote for Trump?

Why a spoon, phiwum? Why not an axe?

;)

No you won't.

If that comes to pass, then tune in here. I'm sure there will be endless delicious suggestions for how to abuse yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and avatarly.

I take a lot more abuse over the fact that I still go to Red Sox games even though they've lost every game I've ever attended since the 1970's :p

Would you please answer this question? I'm curious.

If I misunderstood you, and you don't think Trump is worse than the alternatives, let me know.

I'd like an answer to Phiwum's question, too.

Pure cynicism. I honestly believe my vote is worthless, and I'm pissed off that that's the case. I also don't like either candidate, and I doubt it will make much difference to my life which one is elected.

In that case, please attend more games. Yankees games!

In that case, vote for for Johnson, or Stein, or that other guy. I may do so myself.

That sort of cynicism is why I usually don't vote, but I can't imagine voting for a candidate I would think is worse than the other primary alternative. I guess I don't quite get how your cynicism motivates your choice.

No matter, thanks for the answer.

As for me, this is the first election in quite some time that I will bother voting. Since I'm also in MA, my vote doesn't really matter, but I find Trump such an abysmal candidate, I think that principle requires that I take the time to vote for someone else.

As for the Fed, I think it is idiotic that the Fed should be independent from the Treasury and that monetary policy and fiscal policy should be uncoordinated. Because I think it's idiotic to not have coordination, I believe that such coordination exists.
The whole point of the Fed system is that monetary policy is independent of politicians, who will be tempted to manipulate it for electoral advantage. There is, after all, plenty of evidence of fiscal policy being manipulated for electoral advantage. Politicians simply cannot be trusted with something as imortant as monetary policy. They can't really be trusted with fiscal policy, but they have to be left with something to do.

There is in fact no reason for fiscal and monetary policy to be co-ordinated.

have you never been to a property tax appeal?

Trump appealed once and got a big cut. But it wasn't enough for him, so he appealed again. He didn't like the second result, so he's suing the appeals board for "discriminating" against him. That's what's a tad unusual. But it's consistent with his attitude that anybody who doesn't give him whatever he wants is being unfair.

The stingiest "billionaire" ever?

In all, The Post has identified less than $9 million in gifts to charity from Trump's pocket over his lifetime, including the $5.3 million he gave to his foundation before the last gift in 2008.*In addition, Trump's foundation has taken in about $9 million from other donors, and given away most of it.

Last year, the Trump campaign also put out a detailed list of what it said was $102 million in charitable giving from Trump over five years.*But a close look by The Post found that not a single one of the gifts listed was actually a donation of Trump's own money.

Most of the entries, in fact, were free rounds of golf given away by Trump's golf courses, for local charities to auction or raffle off.

come on! He is the most charitable person ever!
No one ever did as much for poor golfers without a golf course as he did

2,900 of his 4,855 "charitable contributions" were a free round of golf.

Which actually means that he used Foundation funds to pay his gold course.

Dr Oz is going to have Trump on later this week. :sdl:

Trump to reveal 'personal health regimen' to Dr. Oz

Dr. Oz pledges to avoid questions Trump 'doesn't want to have answered'

Kilmeade then asked what would happen if there are "embarrassing things" in the records. Oz responded, "Well, I bet you he won’t release them. … It’s his decision."

"The metaphor for me is it’s the doctor’s office, the studio. So I’m not going to ask him questions he doesn’t want to have answered, and I also don’t want to talk about anybody else. We’re not going to be talking about Secretary Clinton, for sure," Oz said. "And I don’t want to talk about things that are outside of the health purview. But I do not believe we can have a wealthy country without being a healthy country. And so I do think people want to understand, what happens to my health care if Mr. Trump is elected, and more importantly, what kind of role model is he for health in our country."

Asked about the note from Trump's doctor and whether he has ever written a diagnosis like that, Oz responded, "No, I haven’t written one like that. It’s a — it’s a little out of the ordinary. I’m gonna see if I can make some sense out of that, the letter."
