You do not spend your day dealing with people who come to you in a religious capacity for real-world advice, and being more than a little responsible for the outcomes of the religiously motivated advice you give. You want to decry the clergy as corrupt. However, unlike you, they have to deal with the consequences of their actions and decisions with respect to religion and the Bible, specifically the consequences that arise from others' trust in them. When you can demonstrate that level of feedback awareness, you may demand similar respect. For now you come across as the worst kind of demagogic blowhard. I see four possibilities, listed in order of how likely I think they are.

1. Because dodging the question amuses him.

2. She's dead and it's a painful topic for him.

3. She left him but he remains chaste and he believes she is as well and believes admitting this would damage his credibility.

4. He's really a 20-something in Chicago who made up a character for trolling online back when he was a teenager and has stuck with the act out of habit for over a decade.

Personally I think he's dodging the question for the lolz as it would be consistent with the rest of his routine.

Boy, we better get ready for that one. Give me some warning and I will head for one of the poles. I am pretty close to the equator and traveling at a speed of over 1500 kilometers per hour now. If the sun stops, (that is the Earth stops rotating), things could get nasty.

All traditionalist forms of Abrahamic religion subjugate women. Traditionalism is now much stronger in Muslim than in Christian or Jewish communities, but it is less than a century ago that women won the right to vote in the UK. So women do indeed convert to such religions. I suppose it goes with the customs of the social group these women are part of, or wish to join for other reasons, such as marriage.

Very well put Sir, but not accurate—the Clergy are the ones who are responsible for the corruption and decay in the Churches TODAY.
I say this because I have been witness to what they teach the congregations. The disregard for the elementary teachings of Christ has no foundation.

(Luk_6:49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

Trying to help people that have no foundation will not be of any consequence.
Granted I focus on two elements that are vital to the faith, and if those two elements do not form the foundation then all is in vain.

The one being pure marriage-that does not include divorce, because trying to sort out the problems that are present today for those who have not had a pure marriage will only bring about more problems, because people will be trying to apply teachings that do not work.

The second is that of eating unclean meat as stipulated in Leviticus 11, because again that is the exclusion of the command of God, in other words it is taking the Name of God in vain.
Lev 11:24 "'You will make yourselves unclean by these; whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean till evening.
Lev 11:47 You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.'"

You see Sir, it is God who gives us laws that make us holy, and to ignore these laws, one remains unclean!

(Lev_22:32 Do not profane my holy Name. I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the LORD, who makes you holy )

Now you can rant and rave, but the Word of the Creator stay the same---the two things that Jesus accuses the Churches of in the Revelation is sexual immorality and the eating of food offered to idols.(an idol is that which is contrary to the command of God, one makes an idol out of what God rejects)

Rev 2:20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.
So I am familiar with most of the denominations and their teachings—there are many denominations whose leaders have divorced and remarried.

So good Sir do not tell me these clergy are working—they on the other hand are working for the devil.

But do not get me wrong, I come onto the Forum to learn, even if it is to learn how people think.
