Corbyn's days (very) numbered?

I've heard an interesting rumour that Corbyn is hanging in until the Chilcot report is released on Wednesday so he can have the satisfaction of having a go at Blair in Parliament. That's an exercise he can fully get behind.

I hope you are right.

Come to think of it I think I'd cling on too for that reason alone ;)

I see the report runs to ~2.5 million words. That's about 5 x War and Peace. Corbyn might have died of old age by the time he finishes it.

They could call it New Labour!
Or The Real Labour Party

They won't able able to - at least not if they want their name registered for ballots. Since a candidate ran for the 'Literal Democrats', taking votes from the more inattentive Lib Dem voters, your party name can't contain significant elements of another party's.

The Telegraph is reporting (maybe from a certain degree of self-interest) that the attempts to remove Corbyn by the Parliamentary Labour Party are doomed.

Labour rebels are in retreat after admitting that Jeremy Corbyn cannot be removed and would "win easily" if a leadership election is triggered.

And now we'll see attempts at deselection across Labour constituencies.

This'll be fun...

Maybe this is why Chris Bryant was squirming so much on Sunday Politics and imploring Corbyn to do the "decent thing". He probably knows the grassroots Labour members (and not the three-pound Tory members) have the MPs' goolies in a vice.

The Labor Party seems like the GOP in the US;Commited to supporting a leader who is unelectable in a general election.
Politics is the art of the possible.Something the hard line ideologues on both ends of the political spectrum forget.

Can someone tell me the fundamental difference between Momentum and Militant (or Militant Tendency, whatever they called themselves)? How is it right to have a party within a party, and one which overtly intimidates sitting Labour MPs? Handing the party over to Corbyn (in what was effectively a coup by this pressure group) is the equivalent, surely, of handing it over to Derek Hatton.

The analogy is even closer than that, because each have been hijacked by a self-righteous and extreme pressure group.

I can't

Although apparently, some of them are SWP rather than Militant...

Probably better than the Brexit party within the Tory party that has intimidated the PM, held the entire country to ransom and is now shooting hostages by electing a new PM that might well make Trump look moderate.

Well, there's the slight difference in nomenclature, and... yeah, I got nothin'.

Knock it off, Corbyn's supporters are a left-wing british mirror of the Tea Party in the GOP, while waxing nostalgic for a long gone era (the 1970s in Momentum's case) that is never coming back

Just for a fact check. Do the tea party represent a majority of the member of the GOP? If so then it might be a good analogy, if not then it's flawed.

This is a genuine question and not a claim of anything.

Corbyn's is no doubt supported my a majority of Labor members. But I'll bet he is not supported by the majority of Labor supporters and voters. Relative few people are members of parties.
