Yes, that's the narrative. Of course no one checked to see if the voting public used such trivia to base their votes on.The theory I heard is that, somehow, the existence of a terrorist group in Libya would have damaged Obama's election chances, whereas the existence of an angry mob that grew so out of control that they killed four people over a movie would make the administration look much better.
Jeb! crashed and burned after repeating the myth that GW "kept us safe". Do you honestly think that was a campaign slogan of Obama's? He ended terrorism?
Maybe because it didn't happen.I can't pretend to understand the American electorate. After all, they just nominated Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Nothing they do makes sense to me. However, it never made much sense to me that the administration would cover up a terrorist attack by blaming it on an internet inspired angry mob.
I guess that's what their focus groups told them to say, but it never made much sense to me.
Did Obama campaign on the idea he ended terrorism? Kept America safe? Was this a major platform of his?
The Republicans were projecting (they still are). Since their candidates promised faux protection from all those Islamo[insert fear mongered slogan here] surely Obama must be using the same fear mongering propaganda. Ergo Obama can be criticized for failing to 'keep us safe' while pretending to. The only problem is that was not something Obama was doing. Or if he was it was a minor campaign platform, certainly not a pivotal one that needed elaborate coverups of terrorist attacks.
Look at GW. He claims he kept us safe after 9-11 because all the attacks on Americans occurred outside of the US. Talk about a cover up.
