These are basically of the form "Next winter there will be a week during which there will be a storm in this area" which he gets right sometimes and wrong other times - well Duh! That set doesn't refer to the southern pole. The real sets only show a slight warming for measurements like the UAH in that specific reason. And why will it be much different? As you know, in the southern pole the tropopause isn't located at 16 Km but ....... (fill in with the right value), so the set is measuring temperatures in ........ (fill in with the right description). As ozone is a strong greenhouse gas and it's recovering, and it is mainly between .... and .... while the rest of GHG have a more uniform distribution and filter these bands ..................................................... (provide a comprehensive list) for the range of wavelengths in the OLR typical of the usual temperatures in the region (.......K to ....... K), it's obvious that while the temperature in the surface rises, the temperatures at the levels measured by sets like the UAH don't do it so much. But you already knew it, didn't you? Of course as you forecast earthquakes using the same exact OLR data.

I suggest you to duplicate the number of laughing dogs and use the controls to make them bigger, if you want to impress anybody ;).

    There are predictions for the next solar cycle to be less active than this cycle, e.g. abut 70% of the sunspot numbers from memory - not zero.
    There are speculations that this trend for weaker solar cycle could lead to a minimum.

Chilly Temperatures During the Maunder Minimum: there was a local little ice age in the Northern Hemisphere, a Maunder Minimum in the middle of it and temperatures were chilly!

Solar Variability and Terrestrial Climate is science that has been known since basically the start of climate science :eek:! The Sun's variable output affects climate. There are new details here but nothing that supports your delusions about a new Maunder Minimum happening, Haig.

  1. Global warming stopping (the heat content of the ocean increased).
  2. Global surface temperature stopping - RSS data is not surface temperatures - it is mid troposphere.
  3. Global surface temperature stopping - Cherry picking the start date.
Now the trend line is also a lie since the trend from 1997 to today is a increase of 0.01C :jaw-dropp!

We are saying that someone denying the greenhouse effect and ranting abut "Alarmist beliefs" is not capable of telling other denier rants from the real world of climate science, Haig. The insane use of smilies is just being inconsiderate.
We are saying that denial of climate science with a "Alarmist beliefs" rant means that you are incapable of understanding that it is global temperatures that are increasing, not local temperatures!

I see Haig fails to understand basic geography about why Antarctic and Arctic regions are different!

Antarctica - Large island with a massive central highland, surrounded by circulating sea currents and winds.

Arctic - Almost landlocked ocean (so at sea level...) with circulating air and sea currents able to exchange with other systems.

Hence Antarctica is partially isolated from other systems unlike the Arctic, which sees polar amplification!

Dear god, this is not difficult.

The climate is getting and will get hotter. Overnight, by geological standards, making the change one that surpasses the speed of normal evolutionary adaptation, causing extinctions. Bad news.

Good take, but don't blame the cow. Blame the industrial production methods under which the cow is subjected.

The grassland/grazer biome is a net sink, and therefore actually when compared to forests long term, a forcing for global cooling not warming.[1] It is our production methods that turned this natural sink into a significant emissions source.

According to a new study, climate change is warming lakes even faster than the atmosphere or oceans, and it could pose a significant future threat to the habitats for fish and other aquatic animals, as well as drinking water for millions of people.

The study, published in Geophysical Research Letters, shows that lakes are warming at an average of 0.61 degrees Fahrenheit each decade.

Over the next century, it could be enough to increase algal blooms by 20 percent, including a 5 percent boost in toxic blooms. That may not seem like a lot, but it’s enough to present a hazard to both aquatic life and to the cleanliness of water supplies.

“We found that ice–covered lakes, including Canadian lakes, are warming twice as fast as air temperatures and the North American Great Lakes are among the fastest warming lakes in the world,” biologist Sapna Sharma, a biologist at Canada’s York University, said in a press release.

The study focused upon 236 lakes, which contain more than half of the world’s freshwater supply. They were monitored over a 25-year period.
