I never knew Amanda was getting high before going to the police station but it must be true.

Bill Williams said:

What did she claim?

This was written by a top notch journalist that wouldn't lie and risk her reputation. It was an article that Nina made herself available for and I have not read that she complained about it.

Grinder - I missed the part where you dealt with the question, "Must it?" You went straight into something else, representative of some unknown agenda.

Never mind.

Bill it must be true because a respected journalist wrote it (goose/gander).

The quote as you should know is direct from Nina's book.

Nina in her book says that since Raf smoked all the time it is probable that Amanda was stoned when she arrived at the police station on the 5th. Nina may have been more specific when talking to the NYT reporter for the story about her.

It would have been better comedy to say, "You had me at 'never mind'."

What would be interesting is to look at each of the Kercher murder true crime books and see what each got right and wrong. I think that many of the facts written may just be the same, but they colored their books differently. And Is Follain really lying when he writes what he is told by his sources? Or are just his sources lying?

I'd be hard pressed to call Follain a liar for anything in his book. He's simply a slave to his limited sources - the PLE and the Kervhers and Brit friends of Meredith's.

After Knox's parents got charged with calunnia (defamation?) because of something he wrote, and neither he nor his publisher wete, why would anyone trust him again?

But this only explains the heavy slant of his book. Not lying, but can claim to be only the messanger. His book is an example of the weakness of the true crime format. Everything in it can be said to be 100% true in the sense that he's not lying about what he was told.

You can't really count on the characterizations of Amanda, Raffaele, Rudy etc. In any of the books. Did any of them actually interview Amanda? Did any of them come to Seattle and talk with Amanda's friends, relatives, teachers, coworkers? Are you really going to get a picture of what Amanda is like from the people she met in the month that she was in Italy?

They may get the facts of the case, bUT the reliability of how they treat the subjects is always going to be questionable.

Who cares, really, what they are like?

Even true crime books should try to put together a believable narrative of what they either did or didn't do.

It doesn't matter in regards to their guilt but it does matter. IE: Grinder is pointing out Nina's portrayal of Amanda and that the family didn't care for it. My point is that an author can provide lots of facts but maybe species what is more important is how they are potyrayed.

For example, I just finished reading David McCullough's biography of John Adams. I've read many other accounts about Adams and never really thought as positively about Adams as I have, say Jefferson. Now my opinion is radically different of both men.

It matters.

Most certainly it matters to the family if an author forms a judgement, fair or unfair, about someone's character. Fair enough. My memory of that stuff in Burleigh's book is that it doesn't really matter to me - is immaterial to what is at issue about the case itself.

I think we agree for the most part. I have no question about the innocence of Amanda. What fascinates me is everything else about this case. How opinions were formed. Why some people can't see the forest for the trees. Group think. Social networking's impact . The media and disinformation. Why it is so difficult to correct the lies. The laws and how they are administrated.

Google translate of Italian article about a new bookind titled Exhibit 36

Sollecito, accompanied by his father Francesco, sitting next to the lawyer of Amanda Knox Luciano Ghirga and not far by prosecutor Giuliano Mignini and Rudy Guede's lawyer Nicodemo Gentile, also took the floor at the time because chiendendo analyzed only his knives and not others.

Rudy shows up... a book deal training session, Migninni too, fantasizing of his book release date.

Maresca befriended the Rudy story maybe he can help explain the evidence away and the Rudy murky water.

One things for sure, the Perugia pack will support Migninni in which ever path he takes.

Stefonani will remain afraid of being the scapegoat, and Edgardo will be playing on his Ouija board to predict more cases.

The google I used is different translation. Rudy wasnt there, his lawyer was in this translation. It was Raffaele and his father.

Another newer article- Raffaele speaks more

"I have no sympathy for Guede, I saw for the first time in court where prosecutors inexplicably they never wanted to hear. But I think that prison is a school of crime. Does not redeem and does not promote reintegration. If you are not a criminal, it becomes ". Guede has repented? "I doubt it. As it turned out by some witnesses, it was on him several times weighed on suspicion of involvement in incidents of burglary according to the same script: a rock to break the window and then the even climb to get inside. Exactly as it happened to Meredith's house. Prosecutor Mignini instead saw traces of scenarios rituals because the crime had taken place after the night of Halloween and in the bedroom of the victim was a Dracula costume. I learned that the same pm, investigating the discovery of Francesco Narducci, fished out of the lake Trasimeno in 1985, he put aside the idea of suicide to beat the more complex track to satanic murder. He proved to be a mistake. "

I forgot. Did Bruce encourage people to move on to another case or just move the discussion to another forum where there is little to no difference of opinion?

Are you bored, Grinder? There are differences of opinion on the other forum and the floor is open to anyone who wants to express dissent. There are also many other cases under discussion there. Seems to me you are the monomaniac.

Dear gawd man, Bruce came here and in no uncertain terms let us know that we should move on as this case is over while hosting a site where he allows the conversation to go on and on and only the most minor differences of opinion with the exception of the character HJ.

Anyone that posts on these threads could be accused of boredom especially if they cruise all over the place posting odd inaccurate statements.

So I was curious if anything was going on regarding the case and lo and behold IIP has a raging love-in going on.

Anyway I thought you said the field was mine.

I know I do everything Bruce tells me. The baby needs new shoes!

So what is it that still keeps your interest in this case and what more would you like to know or discuss which hasn't already been done?
