Merged US Soldiers Stop Terrorist Attack In Belgium /Bad guy with guns stopped by good guys

Hmmm, an Islamist who just happens to find firearms in a park and tasks them on a train with the intention of robbing the passengers is now going to be confused with an Islamist who took firearms on a train with the intention of earning 72 virgins but gets their butt kicked and decides to cop a tall tail to avoid having any Islamist who takes firearms on a train with the intention of robbing the passengers confused with an Islamist who takes firearms on a train with the intention of earning 72 virgins.

In a nutshell.

How he obtained the weapon has no real bearing on what he did with it.

Yes, but "I found a gun and ammunition in a park which gave me the idea to attempt the biggest train heist in history whilst being on several terrorist watch lists" is quite a good one.

He needs to go to the Bridge at Santon Bridge in November

ETA: Applecord, post # 121, With emphasis on the "nut", I think.

A little known fact, thus far carefully suppressed by the NWO, is the existence of the tree Quercus pistoliogestatus. Its fruits are AK-47s, and its flowers are bullets for the same. It has been bred in secret NATO laboratories in Brussels. Some specimens have escaped into the wild.

Seriously, from the same article:
Sophie David, a lawyer who was assigned to El-Khazzani when he was detained in Arras but is no longer representing him, said he denies firing a single shot.
I get the feeling there's a causal relationship between this claim and the highlighted part. I can't see any lawyer worth their salt wanting to pursue this defence in court.

DDT: you might want to consider visiting Stanton Bridge in November too.

Jennings have some decent ales too. They are especially good if you have been walking all day.

I was unfortunate enough to be on the train yesterday in the early evening on my way to Paris but did not see the incident but heard the shots. Still pretty shaken but grateful to the American soldiers.

I just saw this post. Glad you are with us and were able to make it. That train ride could have ended up much different for you and everyone else. Wow.

US airman Spencer Stone,
Oregon National Guard member Alek Skarlatos, 22,
Anthony Sadler, from Pittsburg, California,
and fellow passenger British IT consultant Chris Norman, they managed to wrestle the attacker to the ground, stopping what could have been a deadly terrorist attack.

OK, not Marines .... early news reports once again were wrong on a few facts ... but so what?

Four good men did a good thing, and all I can say is thanks, well done, and wish I could by them all a series of pints.

Some of the tripe in this thread is a great disappointment.

@miac: thanks for posting, glad you are OK.

What are people going on about France for? Evidently this happened in Belgium. The terrorist and the heroes boarded in Amsterdam. The train was heading toward France, but my understanding is that this went down before the train had made it out of Belgium.

It's all France to the Conservatives.

For the record, a man walking his dog recently found a shotgun in a park not far from where I live. So it's not entirely unheard of for someone to randomly find a firearm.

The difference is, the Canberra man immediately phoned the police. He didn't pick it up and get on public transport with it.

What I find strange is that the news I read in the US like CNN kept talking about 3 people only. Only today they mention 4 due to the legion award. Editorial misstep ?

The initial assault on the perp was done by the three Amis. The Brit decided more help was needed and joined in the effort to control him. Fine distinction that the French didn't make there. I agree with them, he showed up and that matters.

I'll just say that I thought it would have been an entry in the spirit of that competition...
I'll take that as a roundabout way of saying that it was too subtle to be recognized as satire.

The four received the Legion of Honor from the French President today. Well done, France.
Wow. The Legion d'Honneur is the most prestigious medal France awards.

As a frenchwoman, I would have been ashamed had they not been awarded it at once ! I also wish the train company will make some gesture, like free rides on TGV for the rest of their lives.
