I'm surprised more of those on the right aren't pissed that Americans pay for Health Care, via taxes, that they get no benefit from, so they have to acquire private insurance to be covered.

One of the things I find about the GOP is how easy if is for them to be insensitive to the suffering of others. They think they are practicing "tough love" when science says that there needs be assistance to the poor.
The left have GMO's, vaccines to make them look like complete and total idiots. The right has poor people. Their motto, "**** them. if they are born poor and cannot rise above their station". Why should someone with billions of dollars help them? It's not as if living in a society means that the overall health of the society depends on social assistance for those in need. **** the poor. Having been a staunch conservative, I can still assume the mantle of a conservative and adopt the sentiments and logic of a Conservative. Whenever I do I find it soulless. and rationalizing is the only coping mechanism (the poor who fail to succeed deserve it, are there no prisons? No workhouses? If they would rather die then let them do so.)
The GOP has always been known for fiscal responsibility. For this I honor them and want them as a counter balance to liberal spending.
What saddens me and causes me concern is the apathy and indifference of the current GOP. I had not expected that the GOP would celebrate death or boo and belittle a soldier who acted honorably in defense of his country.
