Yeah, looking at Wilson's own testimony...well, he admitted to firing at Brown in anger, with "tunnel vision". Claimed that grabbing a clearly obese 18 year old guy is like grabbing onto "Hulk Hogan". Claimed that Brown "bulked up" while being shot at. Claimed that he was looking at Wilson, the man who was shooting at him, as though he weren't there. Claimed that Brown had his arm under his waistband, for no apparent reason.

Yeah...I'd have voted to indict based simply on that fresh batch of fried nonsense, alone.

Did you see it differently? Oh wait, silly me. You weren't there!

I don't condone the rioting at all but understand the frustrations.
The looters are opportunists, they don't have anything to say. Just thieves.
I'd think the responsible action would be to emphasis to new police recruits to use non lethal force as the 1st option.
And police training doesn't teach that now?

They're idiots. Fox News had video of people driving up to a store and piling stuff in the trunk. Their license plates were visible on the footage.

I have little doubt that there are people who were just waiting for the GJ report to do some Xmas shopping.

Sadly I agree when someone turns up wearing a shielded riot helmet before the announcement it is a pretty clear indication they are spoiling for more than a peaceful protest no matter what the result is

I love it, Huffington Post blazing across their headlines:

"U.S. Attorneys Prosecuted 162,000 Cases In 2010 – Grand Juries Declined To Indict Just 11 Times..."

I would love to know where they got their data. When I served, during our 20 week session, I'd estimate we declined to indict about 10 times* out of 500 or so cases. So in the other 161,500 cases, they only declined once? I find that hard to believe.

*Could have been more, but probably no more than 20-25.

You sound disappointed...
Why would I be disappointed? It's exactly what I expected, this was a lynch mob and "justice" was never the goal.

Their tactics at the very least made charges less likely. I knew this when they first announced it and I guarantee they did too.

You were saying...
It's very obvious that "justice" is not what you wanted here either. You wanted Wilson to be railroaded in order to appease the lynch mob. But the Grand Jury took their job seriously, and the miscarriage of justice you wanted was not what they were there to do.

Btw, your link has nothing at all specific to Missouri law.

Could you remind me of when OJ's detractors spent weeks getting attacked by police who essentially laid siege to their town? Or when the supposed prosecutor walked up and blamed the (then nonexistant) social media?
It wasn't the police who laid siege to Ferguson and burned it. Nor was it the police that rioted and looted on Day 1.

The police did some questionable things, but nothing in comparison to what the "peaceful protesters" did.

I note that you have yet to comment on the evidence presented to the GJ and now posted online. I predict you will invoke conspiracy theories to explain it.

Football players tend to hold their head up, since they need to see where they're going. What you're describing is more like Juggernaut from the X-Men - since he can simply run through a mountain without issue.
That's what the eyewitness described, not LTC8K6.

I don't think that grand juries should even exist anymore given that they are usually a rubber stamp. But prosecutors that don't use them as rubber stamps don't really want to go to trial but want to shift the blame of that to the grand jury.

My point is that he didn't even want a trial.
More evidence that what you want to pass for "justice" is appeasement of lynch mobs.

Was 7:00 p.m. the best time for this announcement? Is there any research on how to time these things? Is it because at 9:00 in the morning, citizens are out at work and kids are in school, but after dark people are protected in their homes? Closer to a curfew?

Every announcement has seem mismanaged, even if they geared up for this with barricades and extra police. I dunno, I feel that if this was announced at 8:30 a.m., the really bad people would still be asleep and their sheepish followers are busy working, or stuck in traffic. With cameras everywhere, people would also be more likely to get caught on video.
Then you have people rioting when the streets are packed with commuters, children going to/from school, etc.

I told them the best time to announce the findings would be during the Super Bowl while freezing rain is coming down.

But did they listen to me? No.

Did anyone else notice the young child, I would guess about 10-12 years old, outside the Ferguson Market and Liquor, carrying a few bottles of booze?
Who in their right mind lets their child out for an evening of looting? Are mom and dad on a bender today?

There is no mom & dad. There is a sperm provider and a uterus support system.

I've noticed we still have a distinct lack of Brown supporters in this thread who want to discuss the evidence.

I thought the statement given for this case by McCulloch was excellent. Very informative and well worded. I can't think of a better way to explain in such a rational and logical matter why Wilson was not indicted.

Unfortunately, logic is not something being used by any of the protesters. They hung Wilson as a murderer the very day the story broke, before any facts were gathered and not a thing was gonna change their mind. Ignorance runs deep in a lot of people unfortunately, and the media is partially to blame. They sensationalized the story and the hearsay regarding the story from the beginning. But this case, as with the trayvon case, shows that the system does work, and they won't bend to social pressure just to appease a lynch mob. Well done.
