Limbaugh has thoughts on Ebola, border security

Well, I always consider the opinions of bloated, drug-addled, pedophilic, slut-shaming bozos who somehow stumbled onto a radio program.

Figured someone would beat me to it!!! We done!!:):)
.
That was my take also. :)
I bet were there an easily excited liberal base to scare to death rather than shooting the conservative scaredy-cats in the barrel Limpbow could have just as well gone that way... where the money is.

It is when the Republican reaction to every problem is to seal the border with Mexico (for some reason Canada can't get Ebola or a phantom ISIS brigade) even though doing so will accomplish nothing regarding the supposed issue.

The `phantom ISIS Brigade` is going to get mighty cold in about a month or so keeping the risk of such shenanigans down.

Have you forgotten the bit of political theatre from a couple of years ago when there was a report delivered to Congress about the horribly porous border with Canada? The investigators went to little-used, mostly uninhabited sections of the U.S.-Canada border and were shocked—shocked!—to discover they could cross into the United States from these little-used, mostly uninhabited sections!
.
Just about every Tuesday night, at 22:30, a U-2 spy plane takes from Palmdale and flies due north... for the 34 years I've been living here.
I guess they're watching for the waves of ice-backs pouring across the border at night.

Well, December isn't that far off, so sealing the Canadian border to keep Santa out so they can "Keep Christ in Christmas" would be quite timely.

Xmas: red and green, food and music, parties and presents and fun? Clearly Santa Claus is Mexican, and arrives from the south.

Along the same lines, Phyllis Schlaffly recently said that Obama wants to bring ebola to the US to make it "more like Africa".
NPR had a whole segment on right-wing nuttery about ebola and various conspiracy theories related earlier.

I am (unpleasantly) surprised that she is still living, but not that she is still bat-feces crazy...........

He reportedly travelled to Honduras with a bunch of other guys, with a bottle of mislabeled Viagra, in order to have sex with underaged boys.

No, really.

As much as I hope that is completely true, and, if so, gets really widely known, I have to admit that nothing in the article mentioned young boys, pedophilia or related. If I have missed something, please give me line number or at least paragraph............

Hope you are all having a good time, because you are not exercising skepticism.

Honestly, I don't care. That's the rumor, that's all.

Again, I regard Limbaugh as a real-life troll. Nothing he says is to be taken seriously.

Just in case there are any real skeptics around, you can listen to Limbaugh's actual comments at the (pretty obviously non-conservative) Alan Colmes Liberalland site. Then check out David Quammen's comments on Anderson Cooper (to which Limbaugh was responding):

Seems pretty obvious that Quammen is saying that we should not seal our borders against flights from Liberia because of slavery.

Does that mean we should not help Liberia? Of course not. It does mean that we should quarantine the outbreak to stop its spread. Except if it violates some liberal principle, of course.

I read in the news that the US has sent about 500 100 Marines to Liberia, for reasons I suspect are linked to fighting the Ebola virus.

Just a thought: tanks and guns and planes ain't gonna stop Ebola. The soldiers who follow up ... are likely to be at risk of infection. Hmmmm. Glad I'm not an Army medic.

Then again, we send off Marines and soldiers on all sorts of humanitarian missions, because we have Marines and soldiers need to keep them busy so they don't get bored.

EDIT: sorry, 100 Marines.
Source:

One hundred members of the US Marine Air Ground Task Force are being sent to Liberia to provide interim re-supply and transportation support in the wake of the Ebola virus outbreak, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced Wednesday.
"They are being sent down there as a bridging capability," DoD Spokesman, Rear Admiral John Kirby, said.
The Marines are being sent ahead of the US Army team slated to be deployed to Liberia later this month to battle the Ebola virus outbreak.

"We don't see the deployment of these Marines as being long term. They are considered a temporary solution just to get us into the region," Kirby said.

Kirby noted that the Marines are laying the groundwork for the estimated 4,000 troops that are expected to be in West Africa to help with the Ebola fight. Kirby also said the number of troops being sent would remain in flux.

According to Kirby, the Army will be deployed from various installations, providing engineering, medical, civil affairs, aviation, and logistical support to this very important mission.
Travis: Rush Limbaugh is probably the best paid troll in America. Why does he get paid so well? People like you keep leaping upon the bait he dangles. You are helping him make money.

It was the Dominican Republic, not Honduras. The DR is a popular destination for sex tourism (including with young girls and boys) and RL had someone else's Viagra prescription with him. So the thought was "he's taking Viagra on a trip to the DR, but going without spouse (was he divorced again then?) then he's likely on a sex tourism trip." The boy part comes from an incident back before he was a popular RW radio host. He went by Jeff Christie and was supposedly busted in a public bathroom for propositioning another guy. And there seems to have long been rumors following him that he's a self-loathing closeted gay man. (multiple failed marriages with women are part of that story).

So basically many of the parts fit, but only if you ignore other, more innocent, explanations. Maybe he was going on a sex tourism trip, but for adult "companions" (that's legal in the DR). Maybe he thought he'd meet someone there and wanted to be prepared in case they hit it off. There's no evidence one way or another. But that's where the "DR little boys" story comes from.

And that's all he is!
Yet, his audience is so large and do take his frothings seriously!
