It is about time that you realize that the calm state of consciousness is naturally free of word salad only if you directly know it (actual accuracy of it) , and not just thinking or talking about it (non-accuracy of it).

Once we are calm we see beyond the banality of duality and perceive the unity of reality.

Nothing is shut up, one is aware also of the calm aspect of concussions that is naturally invariant, in addition to its non-calm and naturally variant aspect.

wow. You have managed even to redefine "not thinking or talking" as something other than not thinking or talking.

If you find concussions calm, either you're looking in the wrong dictionary or you're not paying attention.

If you are not find also the calm aspect of consciousness, your attention is limited only to the non-calm aspect of consciousness.
 
That answers what sentient self aware consciousness does, but it did not answer what consciousness is.

What is salt?
It is what makes things salty.
But what is the salt?

At this point? Mostly a weasel word added to the mostly understood neurological functioning of the brain in order to invoke woo.

Consciousness is just what the brain does. It's a perfectly understandable emergent property of a functioning neurological system.

If someone asks "What does the heart do" and someone replies "It pumps blood" that answers the question, it doesn't beg the question "Well what makes the heart pump blood?"

Things don't have to have a reason to meet their own definition.

There's some unanswered questions about the functioning of the brain, but not enough to fit all this mystical woo in.
