Yeah, St Louis shooting sounds like a classic "Suicide By Cop" scenario. But it might just inflame things even more in Ferguson.

How many weapons do you expect one cop to carry? Hes already got a pistol and a baton, now you want him to carry a taser too? How about a net, and shotgun for bean bag rounds.

For what it is worth, all of the LE I work with carry tasers. I can't remember when I last was a Law Enforcement person without one. They all have pepper spray, too.

Then again, tasers are imperfect - just ask Ammon Bundy (Cliven's son). He was tased and didn't even fall down. Brown was a big guy - if he really was running full tilt at the cop, I would not count on a taser or pepper spray to stop him - his momentum along might be enough to close the gap, and flailing arms can pull the darts out, even if the person lacks fine motor control.

Knives are pretty deadly when thrown at people,

Only if you're Gimli and it's a throwing axe and you're resident in a fantasy movie...

Otherwise they mostly bruise and sometimes make superficial wounds.

Maybe they should start carrying air horns to scare people away. People that they're trying to arrest. He's not a deep thinker.

He's on the air because of his magnificent beard, not because of his great* intellect.

*sarcasm.

Chock full of emotions though, aren't they? Those are like vitamins for your posts, makes them seem big a strong!

His posts are strong all right, their stench permeates the thread.

I doubt most of the "peaceful protestors" are Rhodes scholars, so they probably didn't know the difference.

More hatred for peaceful protestors. The reports I have read day that most of the protestors are in fact protesting peacefully and ate trying to keep or that easy, despite some people trying to incite violence.

Then alleging Brown stole "a box of cigars" sounds like spin because six-packs aren't boxes. I think they retail for about ten or twelve dollars although earlier it was stated he stole fifty dollars worth of cigars. That may have been exaggerated too?

Even if it wasn't, stealing fifty dollars worth of cigars is robbery but under Missouri law it isn't a felony. It's a misdemeanor.
If he had put just that much physical intimidation into convincing a woman she should have sex with him, would you still be discounting it as the equivalent of " a little friendly persuasion", and as far as I know, sex is not a crime (at least the way I do it:()

It's a huge issue in some jurisdictions, even before the Oscar Grant shooting.

Many departments in "progressive jurisdictions" aren't allowed to carry tasers, including San Francisco:

Personally I like them and have used them, and our agency adopted them for issue early on after testing.

A lot of people missed this really amazing post (the first one, so far as I can tell, to give "Josie's" account), which is consistent with what witness said at the scene, transcribed in the link below).

It did not go unnoticed.

Gads, I gotta make fewer typos. I meant to say "the last time I saw a law enforcement officer without one". I am not and never have been law enforcement, although I have worked most of my career for agencies that have law enforcement as part of their function.

I was not aware that some agencies are not allowed to use tasers.

That sounds nasty. Maybe that was what gave Michael Brown the 'incentive' to rush the officer... "Wow. He's messed up, I can take him!" Maybe, anyway...

Now, about that impossible 'kill shot' to the 'top' of the head... A few minutes work and it doesn't seem so far fetched...

Those all seem to be to the 'top of the head' and fatal, but only one is looking 'down'.
You have all the shots coming in at a perpendicular angle. Brown was 6'4". Unless Wilson was holding his gun over his head, the bullets would be coming from below head level unless Brown was bent at the waist getting down on the ground, aka surrendering.

Also, how do you figure they are all fatal? Surely the top one isn't.

I thought about that when I made it and went with the perpendicular angle, assuming Brown was bent down to some degree, and not knowing how tall Wilson is. Turn the whole thing to the right and change the angle, and the results stay the same for at least 3 of 4. I can make more if you like, but I think it makes the point as is.
As to the top shot not being fatal, what do you think the bullet did once it got inside his head, stop? At that angle, it likely rode the back of the skull to the base. Lot's of damage in between, and clearly, we're talking about someone who died.
